Working out the hour
Pack price divided by hours, nothing else.
$6 for 500 minutes
500 minutes is 8 hours and 20 minutes, so each hour costs $0.72. That suits someone with one long recording or a handful of shorter ones. One three-hour recording, for instance, uses 180 minutes and leaves 320.
$12 for 2,000 minutes
2,000 minutes is a little over 33 hours, which brings an hour down to $0.36. It is the pack for a 10-hour file or a term of lectures. Twenty lectures of 90 minutes come to 1,800 minutes, inside the pack.
$24 for 5,000 minutes
5,000 minutes is about 83 hours, at $0.29 an hour, and this pack includes API access. It fits a podcast archive or a research project with dozens of interviews. Forty two-hour episodes use 4,800 minutes, inside one $24 pack.

FAQ
Questions about the cost of an hour.
How much does it cost to transcribe an hour of audio?
$0.72 on the $6 pack of 500 minutes, $0.36 on the $12 pack of 2,000 and $0.29 on the $24 pack of 5,000. All prices are in US dollars.
Which pack should I buy?
Add up your minutes. Up to 500 minutes, the $6 pack; up to 2,000, the $12 pack; above that, the $24 pack, which also includes API access.
Is any of it free?
A first recording gets its first 20 minutes free. A recording that short is transcribed in full, and a longer one is previewed before a pack transcribes the rest.
Does a long or large file cost more per hour?
No. An hour costs the same at minute one or hour nine. Files can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB, and each takes about 2 minutes of processing per hour. A 4-hour file simply uses 240 minutes.
Is a non-English hour more expensive?
No. All 99 languages cost the same per minute, and the language is detected automatically. Tagalog, Japanese or Swedish minutes come from the same pack as English ones.
Are exports extra, and is my audio private?
TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON are included in the price. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, so the hour you pay for stays yours.
