Transcribe a 2-hour podcast recording Show notes, chapters and captions from one file.
A 2-hour podcast recording is 120 minutes and comes back as text in about 4 minutes; the published MP3 at 128 kbps is roughly 115 MB, while a raw multitrack session exported as WAV is closer to 1.3 GB. Either fits the $6 pack (500 minutes) with 380 minutes left, and the first 20 minutes are free on a first visit.
Long-form audio
From the recording session to the published page.
Raw or published, both work
Long-form shows reach a transcript at two points: the raw session straight out of the recorder or a remote-recording service, and the finished episode after editing. Upload the raw take to mine it for clips and quotes; upload the published MP3 when the transcript is for the episode page.
No upload for published shows
If the episode is already out, paste the show's RSS feed, a YouTube upload or a video-podcast replay, a Vimeo link, or a Google Drive share link. WhipScribe fetches the audio itself, so a 2-hour episode never has to travel through your connection twice.
What an episode becomes
A brief with the episode's thesis and takeaways, timestamped chapters you can paste into show notes, and the names, books, numbers and dates the hosts mentioned. Hosts and guests are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters. Intro music, stings and ad beds are left out; the conversation is kept.
A month and a back catalogue
A weekly 2-hour show produces about 480 minutes a month, which the $6 pack covers with 20 minutes to spare. Transcribing a back catalogue of 40 such episodes is 4,800 minutes, inside the $24 pack (5,000 minutes) with 200 left. Credits never expire, so leftovers roll into next month's episodes.
The long episode
Why two-hour shows go untranscribed.
✗ Show notes written from memory
Editing a two-hour conversation already takes the evening; nobody wants to scrub it again for timestamps.
- Chapter markers guessed from the waveform
- Guest names misspelled in the notes
- Tools that stop at an hour or a small file size
- A WAV export too heavy for the form
- No captions for the video version
- Quotes nobody can find a week later
✓ An episode with a transcript
One file or one link in; text, chapters and captions out.
- 120 minutes per upload
- About 4 minutes to text
- Chapters ready for show notes
- Names and titles listed
- SRT and VTT for the video cut
- Feed links, no download

FAQ
2-hour podcast episodes, answered.
How fast is a 2-hour episode transcribed?
About 4 minutes. Speed runs at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio, and the public proof page shows a 9.31-hour file done in 1,033 seconds.
Can I paste my RSS feed instead of uploading each file?
Yes. Paste the podcast's RSS feed and pick the episode; YouTube, Vimeo and Google Drive links work the same way. Shows that live only on a hosting platform with no public feed need the file downloaded and uploaded.
What does a season cost?
A 10-episode season of 2-hour shows is 1,200 minutes and fits the $12 pack (2,000 minutes), leaving 800. A single episode uses 120 of the $6 pack's 500 minutes. On a first visit, the opening 20 minutes are free and the rest of the episode continues from there once a pack is added.
Should I upload the raw session or the edited episode?
Whichever the transcript is for. The raw session is better for finding clips and quotes; the edited episode matches the published timestamps, so its SRT and VTT line up with the video version.
My multitrack WAV is over 2 GB. What happens?
Before the first pack, uploads go up to 2 GB. A larger file starts once a pack is on the account, up to 5 GB or 10 hours per file. A mixed-down MP3 avoids the question entirely and transcribes the same speech.
Do you keep my unreleased episode?
No. Your episode is transcribed on our own servers, and recordings are never used for training, so a show recorded weeks before release stays yours. The finished text downloads as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON, and the chapters can be pasted straight into your hosting platform's episode description.
