Stand-up sets, showcases, specials · 2 hours a show

Transcribe a 2-hour comedy show recording and see which lines actually landed.

A 2-hour comedy show recording uses 120 minutes and turns into text in about 4 minutes. The $6 pack of 500 minutes covers four shows, and the first 20 minutes of the first one are free.

For comedians, producers and editors

A comedian rewrites the act from the tape. Text makes that rewrite faster.

Your set list, read back

Chapters follow each bit with a title and start time, so a two-hour showcase becomes a running order you can compare night to night.

The words, not the room

Laughter, applause and crowd noise are not transcribed. What you get is what was said on stage, which makes it easy to see how a bit was worded on the night it worked.

Captions for the special

SRT and VTT files carry timestamps for every line, ready for the editor cutting the full show for upload.

A long night's video goes straight in

A multi-act showcase filmed in one take can go through the upload page, and a show already on YouTube needs only its link.

Why rewriting from video is slow

Watching yourself for two hours to find one tag line is the worst part of the job.

✗ Working from the tape

Most comics record every set. Few go back through the whole thing, because finding the version of a joke that killed means scrubbing through hours of video.

  • Bits you changed on stage and forgot
  • A notebook that holds the plan, not what was said
  • Two hours of video to scrub for one line
  • Laughter that confuses many transcription tools
  • Multi-act shows too long for most uploaders
  • No captions when the special goes online

✓ The set as text

Upload after the gig and read the whole set back on the way home.

  • Full text in about 4 minutes
  • Each comic and the host named in the summary and chapters
  • A chapter for every bit
  • Laughter and applause left out
  • SRT and VTT captions with timestamps
  • A week of four shows on one $6 pack

00:52:03 Alright, keep it going for her one more time. You are a great crowd tonight, honestly better than Tuesday.
00:52:15 Our next act drove four hours to be here, so if you like him, tell him, because he will be driving four hours back.
00:52:40 Thank you. Thank you. So I just moved in with my partner, and we have very different ideas about what counts as clean.
00:52:58 For me, clean means the floor is visible. For her, clean means the floor has been visible at some point this year.
00:53:20 We have a system now. She cleans, and I tell people about it on stage.

FAQ

Two-hour comedy show recordings, answered.

How quickly is a 2-hour show transcribed?

About 4 minutes. A run of shows from a festival week can be uploaded together, and each one finishes independently. Comparing the same bit across several nights is then a matter of searching for its punchline.

What does a week of shows cost?

A 2-hour show is 120 minutes, so the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers four. Sixteen shows over a tour leg are 1,920 minutes and fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. Packs are one-time payments, and the minutes stay on the account.

Does it type out laughter or applause?

No. Laughs, applause and room noise are skipped, and only the speech is written down. A line delivered over a big laugh may lose a word or two, and the timestamp lets you check it.

What is the size limit for a filmed show?

Each file can hold up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Before your first pack, uploads stop at 2 GB, and a bigger video starts once a pack is on the account. A 4K special that passes 5 GB can be sent as its audio track instead.

Does it work for shows in other languages?

Yes. Ninety-nine languages are detected automatically, including Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Tagalog. A set that switches between English and Tagalog is handled in one recording.

Which files come back, and who sees unreleased material?

The set exports as DOCX or TXT for rewriting, SRT or VTT for captions, and JSON. New material stays private. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
