For the night that was recorded

The speeches, the toasts and the talk, without the band.

Only the speech is written

Songs, instrumental sets, applause and crowd noise are not transcribed. The host's welcome, the award citations, the vows and the talk between songs are. A speech delivered over loud music may come back with gaps, so a soundboard feed is the best source if you have it.

One recording, start to finish

Keep the camera or recorder file whole: a four-hour ceremony is one upload and one transcript. Smaller audio files fit the box on this page; a full-evening video of several gigabytes continues on the upload page, up to 5 GB.

A recap from the brief

The brief lists what the event was about and the main points made, and the chapters follow the running order. That is the skeleton of a recap post, a newsletter item or the minutes of an annual dinner, with the quotes ready to drop in.

Quiet stretches cost nothing extra

Minutes are counted on the length of the recording, so a three-hour gala is 180 minutes on your pack whether the band played for one hour or two. The $6 pack (500 minutes) covers most single events; a festival weekend of 30 hours goes on the $24 pack (5,000 minutes).

After the event

Turning a recorded evening into something people can read.

✗ A long video nobody rewatches

The event was recorded, and the file sits on a drive. Finding the best man's line or the keynote's closing point means watching it again.

  • Hours of music between the parts you need
  • Speeches remembered differently by every guest
  • A recap written from the organiser's notes
  • No captions on the highlights video
  • Award citations retyped from the script
  • The recording never looked at again

✓ The spoken parts as text

Everything said on stage comes back as a transcript with chapters, so the recap, the captions and the archive all start from text.

  • Speeches and toasts as spoken
  • Chapters that match the running order
  • Speakers named in the summary and key quotes
  • Names, dates and numbers listed for the write-up
  • SRT or VTT for the highlights video
  • Music and applause left out of the text

Sample output

An evening, as it reads on the page.

An illustrative sample written for this page, not a real event. The gap between timestamps is where the music played.

FAQ

Live event recordings, answered.

How long does a four-hour event recording take?

About eight minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per hour. Stretches of music still count toward that time, but they are not written into the transcript.

What does a full event cost?

A four-hour recording is 240 minutes, well inside the $6 pack (500 minutes). A two-day conference recorded as twenty 90-minute sessions is 1,800 minutes, which the $12 pack (2,000 minutes) covers. Nothing is charged for the first 20 minutes of your first recording.

My event video is several gigabytes. Will it upload?

An event file may be up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Before the first pack, uploads stop at 2 GB; a larger file starts once a pack is on your account. Sending only the audio track keeps a long evening small.

Should I cut out the music before uploading?

No need. Upload the event as recorded and the music is simply left out of the text, while the timestamps still match your original file. Only an event recording longer than 10 hours has to go as two files.

The ceremony was in two languages. Can it follow both?

We detect the language automatically and support 99 of them. If a ceremony switches languages often and a passage comes back thin, tell us.

What can I download, and who can hear the recording?

DOCX and TXT for the recap or archive, SRT and VTT for captions, JSON for anything else. Private events stay private: recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
