Transcribe a 2-hour Teams meeting and send the notes before the next one starts.
A 2-hour Microsoft Teams meeting is 120 minutes of audio, and WhipScribe returns it as timestamped text in about 4 minutes. Download the MP4 from Teams, upload it, read the first 20 minutes free, and let the $6 pack of 500 minutes finish the meeting with 380 minutes left over.
From the Teams recording to notes
Two hours of a Teams call, read in the time it takes to make coffee.
Where the recording lives
Teams usually saves a meeting recording as an MP4 in the organiser's OneDrive, or in the channel's SharePoint folder when the meeting ran in a channel. Open it there, download the file, and drop it on the box above. Nothing joins your call: WhipScribe works on the recording after the meeting has ended.
The sum for 120 minutes
Processing runs at about 2 minutes per hour of audio, so two hours is ready in roughly 4 minutes. The meeting uses 120 of the 500 minutes in the $6 pack and leaves 380, which covers three more meetings of the same length with 20 minutes to spare.
Teams agenda items as chapters
A two-hour Teams meeting tends to wander through status updates, one long debate and a rushed close. The chapters mark each turn with its timestamp, and the brief collects the decisions, the dates promised and the owners named, so the follow-up email writes itself from upload page.
Ask the meeting what was agreed
The chat reads the whole transcript, so a question such as which deadline the client accepted returns the passage and the minute it was said. People who missed the call can catch up from the text in ten minutes instead of replaying two hours.
Why two hours of Teams is hard to use
A recording nobody replays is a meeting nobody remembers.
✗ Living with the raw MP4
The MP4 sits in OneDrive, and the only way to check what was said is to scrub through it.
- Scrubbing a two-hour video for one decision
- Live captions that vanish when the call ends
- Minutes typed by whoever drew the short straw
- Action items remembered differently by each person
- No way to search the audio for a client's name
- A summary written from memory a day later
✓ Working from the Teams transcript
The meeting comes back as one document with chapters, a brief and a search box.
- Two hours of call, about 4 minutes of waiting
- The first 20 minutes free to check the audio
- 380 spare minutes on the $6 pack
- Decisions and owners listed in the brief
- Chapters you can link in the follow-up
- DOCX for the minutes, SRT for the video

FAQ
Two-hour Teams meetings, the common questions.
How long does a 2-hour Teams recording take to transcribe?
Roughly 4 minutes, given about 2 minutes of processing per audio hour. Our published long-file runs include 2.48 hours in 200 seconds. You can close the tab while it works; the transcript waits in your Library.
What does a 120-minute meeting cost?
It fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes and leaves 380. The most common length we see among paying uploads is 100 minutes; on the same pack that leaves 400 minutes, and five 100-minute meetings fit exactly. For a team that records every week, the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes holds about sixteen two-hour meetings.
How big is the Teams file, and will it upload?
Size depends mostly on the shared screen. As arithmetic, a video stream averaging 1 Mbps for 7,200 seconds is 7,200 megabits, about 900 MB; audio alone at 128 kbps is about 115 MB. Up to 2 GB uploads before your first pack, and up to 5 GB after it.
Will a OneDrive or SharePoint link work in place of the file?
No. A Teams recording has to be saved to your computer first, then uploaded. Links work for YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, Kick, Google Drive and podcast feeds, so a recording you have already moved to Google Drive can go in as a share link.
Our Teams meeting mixes English with another language. Will the text hold up?
The language is picked up automatically from 99, and a mixed meeting is read on its main language. English and Tagalog switches within one recording are handled; for other mixes, check the passages in the second language against the audio.
Which exports come out, and is the recording private?
A single run of the meeting yields TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete the meeting and its transcript whenever you like.
