Transcribe an Afrikaans interview quote by quote.
A 2-hour Afrikaans interview is transcribed in about 4 minutes, with the language detected and every quote carrying its timestamp. The first 20 minutes are free; a study of twenty 90-minute interviews is 1,800 minutes, which the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes covers.
For researchers and reporters
The interview in writing, with the time beside every line you might quote.
Check a quote against the tape
Each passage carries a timestamp, so before a quote goes into the article or the thesis you can hear the exact words again in seconds.
Names, places and dates
The names, numbers and dates the interviewee mentioned come back as a list, ready to check spellings and follow up.
Ready for coding
DOCX opens in any word processor for thematic coding, and JSON carries the timestamps for analysis software. Large video interviews go through upload page.
Your recordings stay yours
Interviews are transcribed on our own servers and never used to train a model, which matters when participants were promised confidentiality.
Why interview transcription stalls a project
Every hour of conversation used to mean a day of typing before analysis could start.
✗ Typing it yourself
Fieldwork ends with a drive full of Afrikaans recordings and weeks of transcription ahead.
- A day of typing for each interview
- Paid typists hard to find for Afrikaans
- Quotes cited without a time
- Long interviews split to fit apps
- Names misspelled in the draft
- Analysis postponed for months
✓ One upload per interview
The whole conversation comes back in minutes, ready to read, check and code.
- A two-hour sitting back in roughly 4 minutes
- Afrikaans and English both handled
- Timestamped quotes
- The interviewee named in the summary
- Chat that finds where a theme was raised
- Credits that keep for the next round

FAQ
Afrikaans interviews, answered.
How quickly does a 2-hour Afrikaans interview come back?
About 4 minutes. A 90-minute interview takes about 3, and a 3-hour life story interview about 6. A journalist can send the interview from the car and be choosing quotes before reaching the newsroom.
What does it cost to transcribe all the interviews in a study?
Twenty interviews of 90 minutes come to 1,800 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. A smaller pilot of five 90-minute interviews is 450 minutes on the $6 pack of 500 minutes. Prices are in US dollars and credits do not expire between fieldwork trips. Credits come off the account minute by minute, so a short follow-up interview uses only its own length.
The interviewee switches between Afrikaans and English. Does that work?
Yes. The interview is detected on its main language and switches into English are handled. There is no language menu to set before the upload. Dialect words and expressions from different regions are transcribed as heard; the timestamp lets you hear them again before you gloss them in a thesis.
Is there a limit on length or file size?
Any one interview file may be up to 10 hours long or 5 GB in size. Before the first pack, uploads are accepted up to 2 GB; anything bigger starts once a pack is on the account. A phone recording of 2 hours is usually well under 200 MB, so even long interviews go up quickly on a mobile connection.
Can I cite the transcript directly?
Use the timestamp to check the exact words against the recording first, especially names and dialect expressions. The transcript is a working text that makes that check quick. For a direct quote in print, that check is the step an editor or a supervisor will expect anyway.
Which file formats can I download?
Researchers usually take the DOCX for coding; TXT, SRT, VTT and JSON are there too. Delete an interview and its transcript from your Library when the project no longer needs them. Ethics committees often ask where recordings go: they are transcribed on our own servers, never used for training, and deleted when you delete them.
