day-long hearings · about 13 min per day · not certified

Transcribe court hearing recordings a full day at a time.

A US court or tribunal hearing can run a full day of 6 or 7 hours, and WhipScribe returns a 6.5-hour recording in about 13 minutes as a timestamped working transcript. That day is 390 minutes, which fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and the first 20 minutes are free.

What a working transcript gives you

The day's testimony, searchable before you leave the building.

A day as one file

Courtroom audio is often a single long recording from the first call of the case to the adjournment. One file can run up to 10 hours, so the morning session and the afternoon session stay on one clock that matches the recording you were given.

Find the passage, then play it

Every passage carries a timestamp. When you need the exact words of an answer on cross-examination, search the text, note the time, and play the recording from that point to hear the tone and any pause. upload page

What it is, and what it is not

This is an AI transcript with timestamps for working from: preparing notes, finding testimony, drafting a summary for a client or a colleague. It is not a certified court transcript, not a substitute for a court reporter, and not legal advice.

Costed by the hearing day

A 6.5-hour day is 390 minutes from a $6 pack of 500. A five-day hearing of the same length each day comes to 1,950 minutes and fits the $12 pack of 2,000. Depositions and arbitration sessions are priced the same way, by their minutes.

Why hearing audio sits unused

The recording exists; the time to listen to it does not.

✗ Listening back

Lawyers, paralegals and self-represented parties often have the audio but no practical way to find one answer in seven hours.

  • Seven hours of audio to scrub through
  • Notes taken in the room, with gaps
  • Weeks of waiting for any written record
  • Upload tools that stop after an hour
  • No timestamps to cite back to the audio
  • Speaker turns guessed from memory

✓ A searchable working copy

The hearing comes back as text you can search, with each passage tied to its time.

  • About 13 minutes for a 6.5-hour day
  • Speakers named in the summary and chapters
  • Names, dates and figures pulled out
  • Chat that finds where a topic arose
  • DOCX for case notes
  • One clear note: not a certified record

FAQ

Hearing recordings, the honest answers.

How long does a full hearing day take to transcribe?

About 13 minutes for 6.5 hours, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A short motion hearing of 40 minutes is back in under 2.

What does a multi-day hearing cost?

One 6.5-hour day is 390 minutes, inside the $6 pack of 500. Five such days is 1,950 minutes and fits the $12 pack of 2,000. A longer trial, or a firm transcribing many hearings and depositions, would use the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes, which includes API access.

Is this a certified or official transcript?

No. It is a working transcript produced by AI. When the matter needs an official record, order it through the court or a court reporter, and use this one to prepare, search and draft.

The recording is longer than 10 hours. What then?

Split it into two files at a natural break such as the lunch recess. Each file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB; before the first pack, uploads go up to 2 GB.

A witness testified in Spanish through an interpreter. How does that come out?

The recording is transcribed in its main language among 99 detected automatically. Where testimony and interpretation alternate, both are transcribed as spoken, though the main language sets the run, so check the passages you rely on against the audio.

Who sees the recording, and how do I export it?

Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. You can delete it and the transcript at any time. Exports are DOCX, TXT, JSON, SRT and VTT.
