Where long audio goes

Four facts about your recording, and nothing vaguer than that.

Our servers, start to finish

Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. The audio is not passed to a third-party AI service for transcription, so the hours of conversation you upload are processed in one place.

Never training data

Your recording is not used to train, fine-tune or evaluate any model. A long interview or a closed meeting captures more than anyone planned to say, and none of it becomes material for a model.

Delete it when you are done

Delete a recording and its transcript at any time from your Library. Deleting the account removes every record tied to that email address, so nothing lingers after the project closes.

Upload instead of sharing a link

No bot joins your call; you send the recording afterwards. For sensitive material, uploading the file directly is better than making a Drive or video link public so it can be fetched, since an open link can be opened by anyone who finds it. upload page takes files up to 5 GB.

Why privacy gets harder with length

A long recording holds more that should stay private.

✗ Unclear handling

Long files often pass through several services, and the terms rarely say where the audio ends up.

  • Audio relayed to an outside AI service
  • Terms that allow training on uploads
  • A meeting bot that joins live
  • No way to delete the source file
  • Public share links left open
  • A typist you have never met

✓ Plain handling of the file

One place does the work, nothing trains on it, and you decide when it goes.

  • Transcribed on our own servers
  • Never used for training
  • Upload after the call, no bot
  • Delete file and transcript any time
  • Account deletion clears every record
  • Around 2 minutes an audio hour

Sample

A confidential interview, partway through.

This sample is illustrative. It was written for this page and is not from any real interview. It shows the kind of long, candid conversation people want kept private.

00:04:10 Before we start, this stays between us and the research team. You can stop at any point.
01:37:22 Honestly, the reason I left was the second manager, not the pay. I never said that in the exit interview.
02:55:48 Would it have changed anything if someone had asked you directly back then?
03:46:30 Probably. I would have stayed another year at least. Nobody asked.

FAQ

Private transcription of long audio, the questions.

Where is my long recording transcribed?

On our own servers. The audio is not sent to a third-party AI service for transcription, and recordings are never used to train, fine-tune or evaluate any model.

Can I delete the recording and the transcript?

Yes, at any time. Delete them from your Library, or delete the account, which removes every record tied to that email address. If you want a copy that lives only on your side, download the DOCX or TXT first and then delete it here.

Do you hold a compliance certification?

This page makes no certification claim. If your organisation needs a specific one before audio leaves your hands, check that requirement with whoever owns it before uploading.

How long does a private long recording take, and what does it cost?

Around 2 minutes an audio hour, so a 4-hour interview takes roughly 8 minutes. It is 240 minutes, which fits the $6 pack of 500 with 260 left. The first 20 minutes are free on a first visit, private like the rest.

How large can a private upload be?

As much as 10 hours or 5 GB in a single file. Until a pack is bought, files up to 2 GB start immediately, and anything larger waits for the pack. Anything over 10 hours is sent as two files.

Which languages and exports?

99 languages, detected automatically. Downloads are TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, so you can keep the text in your own systems and delete the copy here.
