Transcribe long interviews in Peru with every quote timestamped.
A long interview recorded in Peru, whether a reporter's two-hour conversation, an oral history session or an HR interview, comes back as text at about 2 minutes per hour of audio, so two hours take about 4 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers four 2-hour interviews with 20 minutes to spare.
Three kinds of long interview
The reporter, the historian and the HR team all need the same thing: the exact words, quickly.
For a reporter
The brief and key quotes surface the lines worth publishing, each with a timestamp. Before a quote goes to print, click to the second it was said and listen again, which matters when a source later disputes the wording.
For an oral history
A life story told over two or three hours keeps its order in the transcript, with chapters where the narrator moved from childhood to work to later years. The places and people mentioned are listed, which helps when you catalog the collection.
For an HR interview
A long exit, grievance or investigation interview becomes a written record with timestamps, so the account can be read rather than replayed. The summary names the interviewer and the interviewee, and the recording stays in your account until you delete it.
Many interviews, one pack
An oral history project of 40 two-hour sessions comes to 4,800 minutes, which the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes covers at $0.29 per audio hour. A newsroom doing a few long interviews a week usually sits on the $12 pack.
What slows down long interviews
Past the first hour, typing an interview yourself stops being realistic.
✗ Typing from the recorder
Every hour of interview takes several hours to type, and a quote is only as exact as your replay.
- Hours of typing per hour of talk
- Quotes copied from notes, not the audio
- Recorder files too large for upload forms
- No marker to find a line again
- A narrator's name spelled three ways
- A transcript that lands after the deadline
✓ The whole interview, timestamped
The full conversation returns as one document, with the lines you will quote already pulled out.
- Close to 4 minutes for 2 hours
- Quotes attributed in the summary
- Timestamps on the transcript
- Chapters through the conversation
- Spanish and 98 more languages
- Files up to 10 hours or 5 GB

FAQ
Long interviews, the common questions.
How long does a 2-hour interview take to transcribe?
About 4 minutes. A 90-minute interview takes about 3, and a 3-hour oral history session about 6. You can leave while it runs, and the transcript waits in your Library.
What does a long interview cost?
A two-hour interview is 120 minutes. A first-time visitor reads the first 20 minutes free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers the rest with enough left for three more interviews of that length. Prices are listed in US dollars.
Can I upload the file straight from my recorder or phone?
Yes. MP3, WAV, M4A and video files all work, up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file and up to 2 GB before your first pack. A two-hour voice memo from a phone is far below that.
Should I split a 4-hour interview?
There is no need. Anything up to 10 hours uploads as one file and keeps a single timeline, which keeps your quote timestamps consistent. Only a recording longer than 10 hours has to go in as two parts.
Does it handle Peruvian Spanish and older narrators?
Spanish is detected without a setting. Older voices, soft speech, regional vocabulary and place names can produce errors, so for an oral history archive, plan one listening pass on the passages you will publish or catalog.
Is a sensitive interview kept private?
Long interviews are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Delete the recording and transcript whenever you choose, and export them as DOCX, TXT, SRT, VTT or JSON before you do.
