Transcribe long interviews in Swedish, quotes with timestamps.
A Swedish interview of one to three hours is transcribed in 2 to 6 minutes, with the key quotes timestamped and the speakers named in the summary. The first 20 minutes are free, and a $6 pack of 500 minutes covers four 2-hour interviews.
What a long interview turns into
Two hours of conversation you can quote, check and archive the same day.
Quotes you can check
Every quote in the brief carries a timestamp, so a reporter can play the exact second before it goes to print. The full transcript sits underneath for when the context around a quote matters more than the quote itself.
Oral history, in the narrator's words
Life-story interviews run long and wander across decades and place names. Chapters follow the turns in the story, and the names, years and places that were said are listed apart, which is where an archive's catalogue entry starts.
HR interviews, written down
Exit interviews and long one-to-ones are easier to handle fairly when there is a text. The transcript gives everyone the same account of what was said, with times, to look back at later.
Recorded on a phone
Most long interviews are recorded on a phone or a handheld recorder. An M4A from the phone or a WAV from the recorder uploads on the upload page, up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file.
Why long interviews wait
The interview took two hours. Typing it up takes a day.
✗ Transcribing by ear
Long interviews are the ones most likely to sit untranscribed, because the typing never fits into the week.
- A full day of typing per interview
- Quotes checked by scrubbing the audio
- Background details lost after the story runs
- Oral histories archived as audio only
- HR notes written from memory
- Interviews split to fit an upload limit
✓ The interview as searchable text
The whole recording goes in once, and the text comes back with quotes, chapters and the details said along the way.
- Two hours of talk in about 4 minutes
- Every key quote timestamped
- Interviewee named in the summary
- Names, places and years listed
- Swedish detected, no language to pick
- DOCX ready for the edit

FAQ
Long interviews, the questions.
How long does a 2-hour interview take?
About 4 minutes, and a 3-hour session about 6. The transcript is ready long before you have finished writing up your own notes from the conversation.
What does a series of interviews cost?
An oral history project of 40 two-hour interviews needs 4,800 minutes, which fits on the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes. A reporter with a handful of long interviews a month does well on the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and the credits never expire.
How well does it handle strong dialects?
Swedish is a major language and a clear recording comes back well. Strong regional dialects, old place names and people talking over each other come back less reliably, so plan a read-through against the audio for anything you publish or archive.
Can I send an interview longer than 10 hours?
One file holds up to 10 hours or 5 GB, so a single recording longer than that is split into two. A life story recorded over several sittings is usually several files anyway. A first upload without a pack can be up to 2 GB.
Which languages work?
99, detected automatically, Swedish among them. Interviews in Finnish, Arabic, Persian or English come back in the language spoken, which matters for oral history projects that record people in their first language.
Can I trust it with a confidential source?
For a confidential source, the point that matters is this: recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. You can delete the recording and its transcript as soon as you have what you need, and exports come as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON.
