Transcribe research interviews a whole study, in Swedish.

A 90-minute research interview comes back as Swedish text in about 3 minutes, so a study of 20 such interviews needs about an hour of processing. The first 20 minutes are free, and 20 interviews of 90 minutes make 1,800 minutes, which fits on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.

What a study's interviews turn into

Transcripts ready for coding the week the fieldwork ends, not a month later.

DOCX for your coding software

Qualitative analysis tools such as NVivo and ATLAS.ti import Word documents, so each interview downloads as a DOCX with timestamps and goes into the project directly. TXT and JSON come from the same run if your workflow reads plain text.

A first pass in minutes, not days

Typing a 90-minute interview by hand takes most researchers a full working day or more. Here it takes about 3 minutes, which leaves the time for checking the transcript against the audio, the step that matters for the analysis.

Questions and themes surfaced

Each interview comes with a brief, chapters that follow the interview guide as it was actually used, and a list of the questions the recording answers. It does not replace coding, but it shows where to look first across thirty transcripts.

Participants' words stay private

Interview data belongs to the participants and the study. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete a file and its transcript as soon as your data management plan says to.

Why transcription stalls a study

Thirty interviews can mean a month of typing before analysis starts.

✗ Transcribing by hand or by service

Projects either spend weeks typing, or wait on a transcription service and its queue while the analysis plan sits idle.

  • Several hours of typing per interview hour
  • A queue of files waiting for a transcriber
  • Budgets spent per audio minute
  • Files split to fit an upload limit
  • Timestamps added by hand
  • Analysis delayed until the last file returns

✓ Transcribe as you go

Each interview can be transcribed on the day it was recorded, so analysis starts with the first one.

  • About 3 minutes for 90 minutes
  • DOCX with timestamps for import
  • Swedish detected, nothing to set
  • Interviewer and participant named in the brief
  • Credits that last between fieldwork trips
  • Deletion whenever the protocol requires

A qualitative interview, as it comes back.

This excerpt is illustrative: it was written in Swedish for this page and contains no real participant's words. Roles stand in for names, as they would in a pseudonymised study.

FAQ

Research interviews, the questions researchers ask.

How long does a 90-minute interview take?

About 3 minutes, and a 2-hour one about 4. A batch of 20 interviews can be uploaded in a row; each is ready a few minutes after it lands.

What does a whole study cost?

Twenty 90-minute interviews are 1,800 minutes, which fits on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. A larger study of 40 interviews needs 3,600 minutes and suits the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, so the first interview can be tested before you buy.

Is it accurate enough for qualitative analysis?

Treat it as a fast first draft and plan a checking pass against the audio, as you would with any transcript used for coding. Clear recordings with one person speaking at a time come back best; overlapping talk and a distant microphone need more correction.

Does it handle interviews in languages other than Swedish?

Yes. Swedish is detected automatically, as are 98 other languages including English, Arabic, Persian and Somali, which matters for studies that interview people in their first language. Each interview is transcribed on its main language.

Can I send all the interviews at once?

Upload the files one after another, or put them in a Google Drive folder and paste the folder's share link. Each file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB, and before the first pack an upload can be up to 2 GB.

Which formats come out?

DOCX for coding software and for sharing with a supervisor, TXT for plain-text tools, SRT and VTT if the interview was filmed, and JSON for anyone scripting their own analysis.
