Turn a long meeting recording into minutes drafted before the room is empty.

To turn a long meeting recording into minutes, upload it whole: a 2-hour meeting comes back in about 4 minutes with a brief of the takeaways, chapters for each stretch of the agenda, the names, numbers and dates that were said, and a chat you can ask what was decided. One file can run up to 10 hours or 5 GB, the first 20 minutes are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers four 2-hour meetings.

From recording to minutes

The parts of the minutes the recording already contains.

Agenda items as chapters

Chapters fall where the discussion moves on, each with its start time, which usually tracks the agenda closely. Use them as the headings of your minutes, and use the timestamps to check the exact wording of a motion or an amendment before you write it up.

Decisions and owners from the chat

Ask the chat to list what was decided and who agreed to do what, and it answers from the full transcript. Speakers are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, which helps when a task was agreed in passing near the end of a long session.

Getting the recording in

Zoom saves an MP4 and an audio M4A; download either and upload it. Google Meet recordings land in Google Drive, so the share link is enough. Teams recordings are downloaded first and then uploaded. Nothing joins the live call; this works on the recording afterwards.

Minutes are still yours to approve

Treat the result as a working draft. The secretary or chair still decides what goes into the record, how a contested point is phrased, and what stays out. The draft simply removes the hours of relistening that usually come before that judgement.

Minutes from memory

A two-hour meeting written up from scribbled notes misses things.

✗ Minutes the usual way

Someone takes notes while also trying to take part.

  • The minute-taker cannot speak and type at once
  • Figures rounded or remembered wrong
  • A decision near the end dropped
  • Relistening to two hours to settle a dispute
  • Meeting tools that need a bot in the call
  • Free tiers that stop well before two hours

✓ Minutes from the recording

The whole meeting is on the page, so the write-up starts from facts.

  • About 4 minutes for a 2-hour meeting
  • Chapters that follow the agenda
  • Names, numbers and dates listed
  • Speakers named in the summary, quotes and chapters
  • Decisions found through the chat
  • DOCX to edit into the final minutes

FAQ

Meeting recordings to minutes, answered.

Can it write the minutes for me?

It drafts the material: a brief of the takeaways, chapters per agenda stretch with timestamps, the names, numbers and dates said, and a chat that lists decisions and owners on request. Turning that into approved minutes, in your organisation's format, stays with the secretary.

How long does a long meeting take?

Expect roughly 2 minutes of processing per audio hour. A 2-hour meeting is ready in about 4 minutes, and an all-day session of six hours in about 12.

What do a year of monthly meetings cost?

Twelve 2-hour meetings are 1,440 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. A single meeting fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes. A team that records every week may prefer the $19-a-month Workspace instead of packs.

Does the recording need cutting into agenda items?

No. One file can run up to 10 hours or 5 GB, and the chapters do the dividing for you. Before the first pack, uploads go up to 2 GB, which an audio file or a normal meeting video rarely passes.

Our meetings mix languages. Does that work?

Yes for detection: 99 languages are recognised automatically, and a meeting that switches language is detected on its main language. English and Tagalog switching in one meeting is handled.

Which exports are there, and who can see the meeting?

DOCX is the one most secretaries edit into minutes; TXT, SRT, VTT and JSON come from the same run. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete a meeting and its transcript at any time.
