Premiere Rush export · usually MP4 · up to 10 h or 5 GB

Transcribe a long talk you edited in Adobe Premiere Rush from phone footage to searchable text.

Export the finished Premiere Rush project as a video file, usually an MP4, and upload it here; a 2.5-hour talk filmed on a phone is transcribed in about 5 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free on your first visit, and the whole talk uses 150 minutes of the $6 pack of 500 minutes.

Rush project to transcript

Rush was made for quick phone edits, and a phone can still film a talk that runs for hours.

Export the finished talk

Open the project, choose the export or share option, and save the video to the device. Rush is built around video output, and the file is usually an MP4; on a phone it tends to land in the photo gallery or camera roll, and on a computer in the folder named in the export settings. Export the whole talk in one piece so every timestamp matches what you posted.

Keep the file a sensible size

Phone footage is heavy. At 10 Mbps a 1080p export is about 4.5 GB an hour (10 times 3,600 divided by 8 MB), so 2.5 hours would be over 11 GB. Pick a lower resolution or quality in the export settings: at 4 Mbps the same talk is about 4.5 GB. The box on this page takes up to 500 MB; anything larger goes on the upload page, still up to 5 GB.

What a speaker series costs

Eight talks of 2.5 hours are 1,200 minutes. That fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes with 800 minutes left for the next season, and credits never expire, so nothing is lost if the series pauses.

Notes from the talk

Each talk comes back with a brief of its thesis and takeaways, chapters with timestamps, and the names, numbers and dates the speaker said. Speakers are named in the summary, the key quotes and the chapters when a host introduces a guest. SRT and VTT give the posted video its captions.

Long talks shot on a phone

A phone filmed every minute of the talk. Nobody wants to rewatch it to write the notes.

✗ Rewatching to take notes

A long talk on a phone is easy to keep and hard to use.

  • Exports far beyond 5 GB at full quality
  • The Whisper API's 25 MB upload limit
  • The talk split into short pieces
  • Quotes found by scrubbing
  • Captions typed by hand
  • Notes written from memory

✓ One export, read in minutes

The finished talk becomes text you can search.

  • A smaller export, one file
  • About 5 minutes for 2.5 hours
  • Chapters with timestamps
  • Speakers named in summary and quotes
  • SRT and VTT for captions
  • Packs that never expire

Illustrative only: written for this page, not taken from a real talk. Timestamps place the lines through a 2.5-hour recording.

FAQ

Premiere Rush recordings, answered.

How long does a 2.5-hour Rush export take?

About 5 minutes, because transcription runs at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. The upload itself depends on your connection, which is why a smaller export pays off. A public proof page shows 9.31 hours finished in 1,033 seconds.

What does one talk, or a series, cost?

A first-time visitor gets the first 20 minutes free; a longer talk is previewed, and a pack transcribes the rest from where the preview stopped. One 2.5-hour talk is 150 minutes of the $6 pack of 500 minutes. Eight of them fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.

My export is several gigabytes. Will it upload?

Each file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Before the first pack the limit is 2 GB, and a heavier file starts once a pack is on the account. The box on this page handles up to 500 MB, and the main upload page takes the rest. Exporting at a lower resolution is usually the quickest fix.

Is there a Premiere Rush plugin or integration?

No. WhipScribe has no integration with Premiere Rush and nothing runs inside it; it works on the file you export. If you already posted the talk on YouTube or Vimeo, paste the link instead of uploading.

The talk switches between English and Spanish. Is that a problem?

Language is detected automatically across 99 of them. A recording that moves between two languages is transcribed on its main one, so a mostly English talk with Spanish passages is read as English.

Which files come back, and who sees the recording?

It comes back in five formats: TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
