Transcribe Audioboom interviews with every name and date pulled out.
A long-form interview published on Audioboom that runs 2 hours 40 minutes is 160 minutes of audio, and it is text in about 5 minutes from the show's RSS feed. The first 20 minutes are free, and three interviews of that length fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes with 20 to spare. WhipScribe reads the feed or the file; it has no integration inside Audioboom.
What a long interview becomes
Hours of one person's story, with the facts lifted out.
Fetched from the feed
Audioboom shows reach listeners through an RSS feed, and that same address works here. Paste it and the interview is fetched; an unedited raw recording can be uploaded as a file instead.
The facts, listed
Long interviews are dense with names, places, years and figures. They come back as a list of what was said, so a researcher or writer can check them without replaying two and a half hours. A biographer can check a date in the list, then jump to the chapter where it was said.
Quotes with the minute
Interviewer and guest are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters. Each quote carries its timestamp, so an editor can confirm the wording against the audio before it goes into print.
The cost of a run of interviews
Ten interviews of 160 minutes come to 1,600 minutes, which sits on the $12 pack of 2,000 with 400 left. A single interview uses a third of the $6 pack.
Why long Audioboom interviews are slow to use
A great interview is useless if nobody can find what was said.
✗ Working from the interview recording
A writer listens back with a notepad and replays the hard passages three times.
- Hours of replay to check one quote
- Dates and names heard wrong
- Notes that thin out after the first hour
- A tool that stops at a short length limit
- The interview split across two files
- No way to search a run of interviews
✓ Working from the interview text
The interview arrives whole, with its facts and quotes already pulled out.
- About 5 minutes for 160 minutes
- Names, figures and years listed
- Each key quote tied to the minute it was spoken
- Chapters through the life story
- A chat to ask what was said about a year
- DOCX ready for an editor

FAQ
Audioboom interviews, answered.
How long does a 160-minute interview take to transcribe?
About 5 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per audio hour. A 2.48-hour file finished in 200 seconds, and that run is published at /proof/long-files.
What does an interview series cost?
One 160-minute interview fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and three fit with 20 left. For a series of ten, the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes holds all of them.
How big is the interview file?
An MP3 at 128 kbps is 57.6 MB an hour, so 160 minutes is about 154 MB. A raw WAV is far larger, about 635 MB an hour at CD quality, and still uploads in one piece below 2 GB before the first pack.
Is there a length at which I must split it?
Only past 10 hours or 5 GB. A full day of interviews up to that length goes in as one file.
Which interview languages are supported?
99 languages are detected automatically, including Spanish, Portuguese, Hebrew and Afrikaans. An interview that switches language is detected on its main language and the switches are handled.
What exports come out, and is the interview private?
One run exports TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Interviews are transcribed on our own servers and never used for training, so an unpublished conversation stays unpublished.
