Transcribe long Acast episodes the whole conversation, tangents included.
A long conversational Acast episode of 2 hours 15 minutes is 135 minutes of audio, ready as text in about 4 to 5 minutes once you paste the show's RSS link. The first 20 minutes are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes takes three episodes of that length with 95 minutes left. Nothing installs in Acast; the public feed or an exported file is the input.
From an Acast feed to notes
Two-hour chats that wander, turned into something you can navigate.
The link listeners subscribe to
An Acast show publishes its episodes through an RSS feed. Paste that address here, and the audio is fetched and transcribed without you saving or uploading a file.
Where the conversation went
Conversational shows drift: a story, a detour, a running joke, then back to the point. The chapters record each turn with its start time, and the brief pulls the thread through all of it. A listener who wants the part about one subject can jump straight to it from the episode page.
Pull the line people repeat
Hosts and guests are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters. The quote list gives each line with its minute, so finding the moment for a social clip takes seconds in your own editor.
A season in plain arithmetic
A 20-episode season at 135 minutes each is 2,700 minutes. That is more than the $12 pack holds, so the $24 pack of 5,000 covers it and keeps 2,300 minutes for the next season.
Why long chats are hard to work from
Two hours of talk is easy to record and slow to reuse.
✗ Working from the Acast audio alone
The team relistens, writes timestamps on a notepad and hopes they caught the best moment.
- Relistening at double speed for quotes
- Show notes that miss the second hour
- A length cap that cuts the episode in two
- Guest names misspelled in the notes
- No text for a blog or newsletter
- Last season's episodes impossible to search
✓ Working from the episode text
The full episode arrives as text with a map of where it went.
- About 4 to 5 minutes for 135 minutes
- Chapters that follow each tangent
- Names, numbers and dates said, listed
- Key quotes with the minute attached
- Captions for the video version
- A chat to ask the episode questions

FAQ
Acast episodes, common questions.
How long does a 135-minute episode take?
About 4 to 5 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. The published run of 2.48 hours in 200 seconds is on /proof/long-files.
What does one episode cost, and which pack?
135 minutes on the $6 pack of 500 leaves 365 minutes, enough for two more episodes of the same length. A twice-weekly show uses about 1,080 minutes a month, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000.
How large is the episode file if I upload it?
At 128 kbps, an MP3 holds 57.6 MB an hour, so 135 minutes is about 130 MB. Uploads take up to 2 GB before a pack, and one file can run to 10 hours or 5 GB.
Does a three-hour special need splitting?
No. Anything up to 10 hours goes in as one recording, so one episode gives one transcript, one set of chapters and one brief.
Can I transcribe Acast shows in other languages?
Yes. The language is detected automatically from 99, and a show that switches language is detected on its main one, with the switches handled.
What comes out, and does the audio train anything?
Each Acast episode comes back as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Acast episodes are transcribed on our own servers, and the recordings are never used for training; a guest's off-the-cuff remarks stay between you and the edit.
