Transcribe long recordings from AudioShare the speech in your iOS audio library.
To transcribe a long recording kept in AudioShare on an iPhone or iPad, export it to the Files app or Google Drive and upload it here, up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file; a 4-hour session comes back as text in about 8 minutes. That session is 240 minutes, covered by the $6 pack of 500 minutes once the first 20 free minutes are used.
From your iOS audio library to text
AudioShare is where long recordings on iOS end up; exporting one is the only step before the transcript.
Out of AudioShare
Select the recording and use AudioShare's share or export option to place a copy in the Files app, iCloud Drive or Google Drive. Then open upload page in Safari and pick it from Files, or paste a Drive share link instead. The format is whatever the recording app produced, often M4A or WAV; check the file's info if you are unsure.
Speech, not the music around it
AudioShare often holds rehearsal takes, interviews and session recordings side by side. WhipScribe transcribes the talking: a band discussing an arrangement between takes comes through, while the music itself and any sound effects are not written out. A recording that is all music returns very little text.
Pricing a long session
A 4-hour interview session is 240 minutes, inside the $6 pack of 500 minutes at $0.72 an audio hour. An archive of twenty such sessions comes to 4,800 minutes, which fits the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes at $0.29 an audio hour.
Everything said, findable
Each recording returns with a brief, chapters timed to each new subject, and the names, numbers and dates spoken. Ask the chat when the guest described the first tour and it gives you the minute. Voices are identified in the summary, chapters and key quotes.
Long audio on an iPad
Hours of talk saved in an audio manager are easy to keep and slow to search.
✗ Kept but unread
The archive grows; nothing in it is findable.
- Scrubbing a waveform for one remark
- Large WAV files too heavy to email
- Whisper API uploads refused over 25 MB
- Splitting audio into clips to fit a tool
- Typing notes while playing it back
- Session talk nobody has time to revisit
✓ After the export
Every long take as a document.
- The exported file uploaded unchanged
- Four hours as text in about 8 minutes
- Chapters for each subject discussed
- Names and dates said aloud, listed
- One 4-hour session inside the $6 pack
- TXT, DOCX or SRT from the same file

FAQ
AudioShare recordings, answered.
How long does a 4-hour AudioShare recording take?
About 8 minutes. Every audio hour takes about 2 minutes, so a 45-minute memo is back in under 2 minutes; the proof page shows 9.31 hours processed in 1,033 seconds.
Does WhipScribe connect to AudioShare directly?
No. There is no integration with AudioShare and nothing to install inside it. Export the file to Files or a cloud drive, then upload it or paste a Google Drive share link here.
What does it cost to transcribe an archive?
New visitors try the first 20 minutes free, with a longer file previewed until a pack from $6 transcribes the rest. One 4-hour session uses 240 of the $6 pack's 500 minutes. Bigger archives go on the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes, and credits never expire.
How big can the exported file be?
Up to 10 hours or 5 GB, and up to 2 GB before the first pack. An M4A at 128 kbps is 57.6 MB an hour, so length is the limit you meet first; a 16-bit stereo WAV at 44.1 kHz is about 635 MB an hour and passes 2 GB after roughly three hours.
My recording mixes music and conversation. What comes back?
The speech. Lyrics sung over music, the music itself and sound effects are not transcribed, so expect text for the talking between takes and in interviews. Whatever language the talking is in gets detected automatically from 99.
What do I get back, and does an unreleased session stay private?
Every exported session downloads as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON. Your recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and an unreleased session can be deleted with its transcript whenever you like.
