Transcribe long Ferrite recordings the whole episode, before or after the edit.
A Ferrite project exported as an audio file can be uploaded here, and a 3-hour podcast episode comes back as text in about 6 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, one episode fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and eleven of them fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
From the edit to the show notes
Export the mix once; the transcript feeds show notes, captions and quotes.
Exporting the mixdown
Ferrite exports a project as a single audio file, and you choose the format and quality at that step; check the export settings for the formats your version lists. Send the file to Files or a connected cloud service, then upload it on upload page. If the episode is already published, paste its podcast feed link instead.
When a 3-hour mix passes 2 GB
A 24-bit, 48 kHz stereo WAV is 288 KB a second, about 1.04 GB an hour, so three hours come to roughly 3.1 GB. That is over the 2 GB that uploads before a pack, so it starts once a pack is on the account. A compressed export of the same episode is a fraction of the size.
A season on the $12 pack
A 3-hour episode is 180 minutes. Eleven of them make 1,980 minutes, inside the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes at $0.36 an audio hour. A single episode uses 180 of the $6 pack's 500.
Show notes from the text
The brief gives the episode's thesis and takeaways, chapters come with timestamps for the episode page, and hosts and guests are named in the summary and quotes. SRT and VTT are ready for a video cut. Clips for social posts are easier to choose when you can read the episode first and pick the minute that matters.
Long episodes elsewhere
A 3-hour episode is long work to write show notes for by ear.

FAQ
Ferrite recordings, the common questions.
How quickly does a 3-hour episode come back?
About 6 minutes, at about 2 minutes per hour of audio. The public proof includes 4.94 hours in 372 seconds.
What will an episode, or a whole season, cost?
The first 20 minutes are free for a first visit; a longer episode is previewed and a pack from $6 transcribes the rest from that point. One 3-hour episode uses 180 minutes of the $6 pack; eleven fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
My WAV export is over 2 GB. Will it upload?
A file over 2 GB starts once a pack is on the account, and each file can be up to 5 GB or 10 hours. Exporting as AAC or MP3 keeps a long episode far smaller.
Should I send the raw tracks or the mix?
Send the mixdown: one file with every voice gives one transcript on one clock. Episodes longer than 10 hours must go up as two files.
Do I need consent to record remote guests?
Recording a call with a guest needs the consent the law where you are requires, so agree it before you start. Speech in 99 languages is detected automatically.
What can I export, and what happens to the episode audio?
The episode comes back as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON files. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and an episode can be deleted with its transcript at any time.
