Transcribe Auphonic-processed episodes right after the levelling.
An episode that has been through Auphonic is transcribed by uploading the output file Auphonic produced, and a 3-hour production is text in about 6 minutes. Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire.
After post-production
Auphonic gives you an even, clean master. That is the best file you could hand a transcriber.
Upload the output, not the raw
Auphonic writes the output files you choose in the production settings, and you download them when processing is done. The levelled version is the one to upload: steady loudness and reduced noise help the speech come through. Any of the common outputs, MP3, M4A, WAV or FLAC, goes in without conversion.
When a WAV gets big
A 3-hour 16-bit stereo WAV at 44.1 kHz is about 1.9 GB, well under the 5 GB one file can be. A 24-bit WAV of the same length passes it, and so does anything longer; those start once a pack is on the account, up to 5 GB or 10 hours per file. An MP3 output avoids the question entirely.
A season on one pack
Ten episodes of 160 minutes add up to 1,600 minutes. One three-hour episode alone is 180 minutes, comfortably inside the $4 pack of 300.
Notes for the episode
The transcript arrives with a brief of the episode, chapters stamped to the minute, and the names, figures and dates mentioned. Hosts and guests are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters. Music beds Auphonic left under the intro are not transcribed.
Finishing the episode
The sound is finished. The words around it usually are not.

FAQ
Auphonic outputs: questions and answers.
Is there an Auphonic integration?
No. WhipScribe has no connection to Auphonic and is not one of its outgoing services. Download the output file when the production finishes and upload it here. If you also published the episode to a podcast feed or YouTube, pasting that link works as well.
Which output format should I upload?
Any of them. MP3 is smallest and quickest to upload; WAV or FLAC are larger but just as readable. Choose by file size: up to 5 GB or 10 hours per file, with or without a pack.
How long does a 3-hour episode take?
About 6 minutes, since processing runs at roughly 2 minutes per audio hour. Uploading a large WAV may take longer than the transcription itself.
Does Auphonic's processing help the transcript?
Even loudness and less background noise make speech easier to hear, for listeners and for us. Quiet guests who were hard to follow in the raw file usually come through clearly after levelling, and crosstalk is still transcribed as it happened. It does not change the price or the speed; those depend only on length.
How much for a full season?
A first-time visitor gets a free preview of the opening minutes. Ten 160-minute episodes are 1,600 minutes, on the $18 pack of 3,000. Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire.
Is the audio used for anything else?
No. Productions are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Delete the file and transcript whenever you choose.
