Transcribe long Libsyn episodes and the archive behind them.

A 90-minute Libsyn episode is transcribed in about 3 minutes from the show's RSS link, without downloading anything. The first 20 minutes are free, and a back catalogue of 200 episodes at 90 minutes, 18,000 minutes in all, fits four $24 packs of 5,000 minutes with 2,000 left.

Shows with history

Libsyn shows often have years of episodes; the feed reaches all of them.

Reading the feed

Libsyn has hosted podcasts for a long time, so many of its shows carry hundreds of published episodes. Paste the show's RSS address, choose the episodes you want, and the audio is pulled from where it already lives. If an old episode has dropped off the feed, upload your own copy of the file instead. No login to Libsyn is ever requested, because the feed is public by design.

Long episodes, one each

Each episode is processed as one recording. An uploaded file can run to 10 hours or 5 GB, so even a marathon special is never cut. Files up to 2 GB upload before the first pack is bought. An episode taken from the feed skips the upload step entirely, so your connection speed does not matter.

Pricing an archive

Two hundred episodes of 90 minutes add up to 18,000 minutes. Four $24 packs give 20,000 minutes, at $0.29 an audio hour, leaving 2,000 for new episodes. A show with 30 such episodes, 2,700 minutes, needs only one $24 pack.

What an archive becomes

Every episode returns with a brief, chapters with timestamps and the people, figures and dates mentioned. Across a catalogue that is a searchable index of everything the show has said, and episode pages that finally carry real text.

Archives elsewhere

Transcribing a decade of episodes one download at a time rarely gets finished.

✗ File by file

Downloads, renames and limits for every episode.

  • Hundreds of MP3s pulled down by hand
  • Per-episode tools with short caps
  • Whisper API uploads stuck at 25 MB per file
  • Long specials split to fit
  • Old episodes left with no text
  • No way to find a past guest

✓ From the feed

Episodes picked from the RSS link and returned as text.

  • One feed address pasted
  • About 3 minutes per 90-minute episode
  • Chapters for every episode
  • Names and dates across the archive
  • SRT and VTT for clips you post
  • 200 episodes on four $24 packs

This sample is illustrative; it was made up for this page and quotes no real show. Timestamps match a 90-minute episode.

FAQ

Libsyn shows: frequent questions.

How long does each Libsyn episode take?

About 2 minutes per hour of audio, so a 90-minute episode takes about 3. The proof page records 9.31 hours finished in 1,033 seconds.

How much is a 200-episode archive?

Twenty minutes are free to start. At 90 minutes each, 200 episodes are 18,000 minutes, which four $24 packs of 5,000 minutes cover. A single episode fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes.

Do I have to download episodes from Libsyn?

No. Paste the RSS feed and pick episodes; the audio is fetched on our side. We have no integration with Libsyn and no login to it.

An old episode is missing from the feed.

Upload your copy of the file. Any audio or video file works up to 10 hours or 5 GB; above 2 GB it starts once a pack is on the account.

Can the archive mix languages?

Yes. Each episode is detected from 99 languages, so a show that ran a Spanish season needs no settings. An episode that switches language is detected on its main one.

Which formats come back, and is the archive private?

TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON for each episode. Archives are transcribed on our own servers and never used for training, and you can delete anything.
