How long does a 3-hour Bandicam capture take?
Roughly 6 minutes, since processing runs at about 2 minutes per hour of audio. The public benchmark at /proof/long-files shows a 2.48-hour file finished in 200 seconds.
What will a long capture cost me?
A first-time visitor gets the first 20 minutes free; a longer capture is previewed, and a pack picks up from where the preview stopped. A 3-hour capture is 180 minutes on the $6 pack of 500 minutes, leaving 320. Ten 3-hour tutorials add up to 1,800 minutes, which suits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
My AVI is enormous. Will it upload?
One file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB, whichever comes first, and before your first pack uploads go up to 2 GB. Size is bitrate times time: a capture at 8 Mbps runs 8 x 3,600 = 28,800 megabits, about 3.6 GB per hour. If a file is over the limit, or if the upload refuses the file, convert it to MP3 first; at 128 kbps an hour is about 58 MB.
Should I split a marathon recording?
Only past 10 hours. A 12-hour session goes up as two files, for example the first 6 hours and the last 6, and each comes back with its own chapters and timestamps.
What if I narrated in a language other than English?
The language is detected automatically from the audio, among 99 supported. A capture where you switch between two languages is read on its main one and the switches are kept.
Which exports come back, and is my capture private?
Bandicam transcripts export as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete a capture together with its text.
