BlueJeans archives · about 2 min per audio hour · first 20 min free

Transcribe your BlueJeans recordings before the account is gone.

A BlueJeans recording, often a 2- to 4-hour enterprise meeting, is transcribed in about 4 to 8 minutes once you download it from the account and upload it here, up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file. The first 20 minutes are free, and an archive of 40 meetings averaging 75 minutes (3,000 minutes) fits the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes. Download what you need while the BlueJeans account is still open; this works on the saved files, not on the service.

Moving an archive out

The meetings were recorded for a reason. Keep the words even if the videos go.

Export before the account closes

BlueJeans by Verizon has been winding down, and recordings that live only in a BlueJeans account go when that account does. Download the meetings you need first, usually as MP4 files from the recordings list; check the export settings or ask your administrator if the download option is missing.

An archive, not one meeting

Forty recorded meetings averaging 75 minutes are 3,000 minutes, about 50 hours of audio. That is roughly 100 minutes of processing in total, on the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes at $0.29 an audio hour, with 2,000 minutes left for whatever turns up next. Upload them one after another; each lands in your Library as its own transcript.

Keep the words when the video goes

Archived video is costly to store and slow to search. A transcript of each meeting is a few hundred kilobytes of text, with chapters, timestamps and the names, numbers and dates that were said, so the record survives even if the MP4s are later moved to cold storage or deleted.

Large enterprise files

A long all-hands with screen sharing can be well over a gigabyte. The box above takes the common sizes, and anything larger continues on the upload page, up to 5 GB per file. If an MP4 is bigger than that, save its audio track as an MP3: at 128 kbps an hour of audio is about 58 MB (128,000 bits a second, divided by 8, times 3,600 seconds).

What happens to old BlueJeans meetings

The service is going. The decisions recorded in it still matter.

✗ Left to expire

Recordings stay in an account with an end date, unsearched.

  • Recordings tied to an account that is closing
  • Hours of video nobody has time to rewatch
  • Downloads scattered across personal laptops
  • No way to search forty meetings for one name
  • Files too large for tools capped at 25 MB
  • Per-seat software bought just to read old meetings

✓ Kept as text

Every exported meeting becomes a document the organisation can search.

  • Each meeting a searchable document
  • Forty meetings on one $24 pack
  • Chapters and timestamps for every agenda item
  • Each speaker named where it matters
  • DOCX and JSON for the records team
  • Nothing renews after the work is done

00:03:10 This is the full-year review, so it will run long. Questions at the end, and we will stay until they are done.
01:05:44 We closed the second warehouse in June. Shipping times went up by a day in the north, and we expect that to hold.
02:20:18 The question in the chat is about the hiring freeze. It ends for engineering in the new year, not for the other teams yet.
02:58:02 Benefits enrolment closes on the thirtieth. The details are in this morning's email.

FAQ

BlueJeans archives, answered.

How long does a BlueJeans archive take?

Each meeting takes about 2 minutes per hour of audio, so a 3-hour all-hands is ready in about 6 and the 50 hours in a 40-meeting archive need about 100 minutes of processing altogether. The longest file on our proof page, 9.31 hours, took 1,033 seconds.

What does a backlog cost?

One 3-hour meeting is 180 minutes on the $6 pack of 500. Twenty meetings of 90 minutes are 1,800 minutes, inside the $12 pack of 2,000. Above 2,000 minutes, the $24 pack carries 5,000. All three are one-time purchases and the minutes never expire, so the archive can be worked through at any pace.

Can I transcribe straight from BlueJeans?

No. There is no BlueJeans integration and nothing connects to the account. Download each recording first, then upload it here; if the archive has already been copied to Google Drive, a share link to a file or a folder can be pasted instead.

What if a recording is huge or very long?

Each BlueJeans file can be 10 hours long or 5 GB at most. Without a pack, the limit is 2 GB per upload; past that, the file begins as soon as a pack is on the account. A recording longer than 10 hours is split into two files and uploaded separately.

Our meetings ran in several languages. Is that a problem?

No setting is needed: 99 languages are detected automatically, including Japanese, Korean, Spanish and Hebrew. A meeting that switches between languages is detected on its main language, and English with Tagalog in one recording is handled.

Which exports, and is the archive kept private?

The archive exports to TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Every recording is transcribed on WhipScribe's own servers and is never used to train a model, and you can delete a file and its transcript whenever you like.
