Transcribe long Hi-Q MP3 Voice Recorder files a whole day of talks in one MP3.
A long MP3 from Hi-Q MP3 Voice Recorder on Android can be uploaded here as it is, and an 8-hour conference day comes back as text in about 16 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and those eight hours use 480 of the 500 minutes in the $6 pack.
A day in one file
The app kept recording all day; the transcript keeps up with it.
Finding the MP3
Hi-Q saves recordings as MP3 files you can share from its list of recordings. Share the file to Google Drive and paste the link, or move it to your computer and drop it on upload page. The storage folder can be changed in the app, so check its settings to see where yours land.
MP3 size for eight hours
At 128 kbps an MP3 is 57.6 MB an hour, so eight hours make about 460 MB. At 320 kbps it is 144 MB an hour, about 1.15 GB for the day. Either way the file uploads before a pack, under the 2 GB line.
A conference day on $6
Eight hours are 480 minutes, so the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers the day with 20 left. A three-day event of eight hours each is 1,440 minutes, which belongs on the $12 pack.
Every session, findable
The day comes back with chapters at each talk, a brief of what each speaker argued, and the numbers and dates they quoted. Ask the chat which session covered a topic and it points to the minute. Anyone who missed a talk can read it in a few minutes rather than sit through the recording, and the brief tells them which sessions are worth the full read.

Hi-Q MP3 files, the common questions.
How long does an 8-hour MP3 take?
About 16 minutes at roughly 2 minutes per audio hour. The proof page shows 9.31 hours finished in 1,033 seconds.
What does a full conference day cost?
The first 20 minutes are free for a first visit; after that the day is previewed and a pack from $6 transcribes the rest from where the preview ended. Eight hours are 480 minutes, which the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers.
What if the recording passed 10 hours?
Each file is limited to 10 hours or 5 GB, so split a longer day into two MP3s in an audio editor. Up to 10 hours is one upload.
Does the bitrate matter for the transcript?
Speech transcribes well at the usual MP3 bitrates; a higher bitrate mostly makes the file bigger. Music, applause and crowd noise between talks are not transcribed, only the speech.
Can I record a meeting or call with Hi-Q?
Recording people needs the consent the law where you are requires, so get it first. Any of 99 languages is detected automatically, including a talk that switches between English and Tagalog.
Which formats come back, and who has the audio?
The conference day comes out as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and removing the file removes its transcript.
