Transcribe long sessions recorded on a HyperX QuadCast game nights, study calls and long talks.
A HyperX QuadCast records through software on your computer, so upload the file it saved (or paste the YouTube, Twitch or Kick link if you streamed it), and a 5-hour session comes back as text in about 10 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and the 300 minutes fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes with 200 to spare.
Long sessions, written down
Hours at the desk, talking. The mic heard all of it; now read it.
The file comes from your software
The QuadCast is a USB microphone and keeps no recording of its own. Audacity, OBS, a Discord recording bot, a DAW or a voice-recorder app makes the file, and saves it where its settings say. Common results are WAV, MP3 or MKV; all of them upload as they are.
Sessions that run five hours
Tabletop campaigns, co-op game nights, study groups and long podcast takes run past three hours often. One file up to 10 hours covers almost any single session; a longer marathon goes up as two files, each with its own timestamps.
Several voices, one mic
If friends joined over a call, the recording holds them as well as you. The summary, key quotes and chapters name the people who spoke, so a campaign recap can say which player made which call. Crosstalk during the loud moments can lose a few words.
Recaps you would never write
The text comes back with a brief of what happened, chapters with timestamps, and the names, numbers and dates said. For a campaign that means the NPC names and the loot list; for a study call, the formulas and the deadlines.
Long sessions elsewhere
Five-hour recordings sit in a folder because nothing takes them whole.
✗ What stops the recap
A great session, and no record of it.
- Whisper API uploads capped at 25 MB, far below a session
- Short free limits that end early
- Audio split into parts to fit
- Timestamps restarting in every part
- Recaps written days later
- Lore lost between sessions
✓ The whole session at once
Upload it once and read it in order.
- WAV, MP3 or MKV as saved
- 5 hours back in about 10 minutes
- Chapters for each scene or topic
- Names said aloud collected
- Each player named in the summary
- DOCX recap to share

FAQ
HyperX QuadCast recordings, the common questions.
How long does a 5-hour QuadCast session take?
About 10 minutes, since it runs at roughly 2 minutes per audio hour. A 2-hour study call takes about 4.
What does a month of long sessions cost?
Come for the first time and the first 20 minutes are free. A single 300-minute session sits on the $6 pack of 500 minutes. Four weekly 5-hour sessions are 1,200 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes with 800 left for the next month.
Which software should I record with?
Whatever you already use. Audacity, OBS, a DAW or a phone-style recorder app all produce files that upload. Recording a voice call needs software that captures the other people as well as your microphone; check that before a long session.
How large can the file get?
The limit is 5 GB or 10 hours per file, and up to 2 GB uploads before a pack. A mono 16-bit, 48 kHz WAV is about 346 MB an hour, so 5 hours is about 1.7 GB; an MP3 at 128 kbps is about 288 MB for the same 5 hours.
We play in Portuguese. Does it work?
Yes. Portuguese is one of 99 languages detected automatically. A session that slips into English for rules talk is detected on its main language.
Which exports come back, and is the audio kept private?
The download list is TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, so the table talk stays among the players. Delete the session and its text when the campaign ends, or keep it for the recap archive.
