Transcribe long recordings stored in Icedrive the course is in the cloud, the words come next.
To transcribe a recording stored in Icedrive, download it from the web app or copy it from the drive the desktop app shows on your computer, then upload it here; a 3-hour workshop is text in about 6 minutes. The opening minutes are a free preview, and a course of 22 lessons of 80 minutes, 1,760 minutes, fits the $18 pack of 3,000 minutes.
From the drive to the page
Icedrive holds the lessons. Students, editors and you still need to read them.
Get a normal file on your computer
In the Icedrive web app, select the recording and download it. If you use the desktop app, the drive usually appears like a disk on your computer, so you can copy the file to your desktop or pick it in the upload dialog. Labels change between versions; look for Download on the file.
Encrypted folders come out plain
If the recording sits in an encrypted folder, open it with your passphrase in the Icedrive app and download it there, so the file you upload is the playable recording rather than an encrypted blob. We never need your passphrase or your login.
A course, costed
Twenty-two lessons of 80 minutes make 1,760 minutes. Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire. One 3-hour workshop alone is 180 minutes, inside the $4 pack.
Lessons that read and caption
Each lesson returns chapters with timestamps, a brief with the main points, the names, terms and numbers said, and the questions it answers. SRT or VTT become captions for the lesson video; DOCX becomes the handout. Files up to 500 MB fit the box above; larger ones continue on the upload page.
Why course recordings stay locked up
The videos are uploaded, the students have the link. Nobody can search a lesson for the one formula they missed.

FAQ
Icedrive recordings: common questions.
Does WhipScribe connect to Icedrive?
No. There is no integration, connector or app for Icedrive. You download the recording and upload it here, so we never see your drive, your folders or your keys.
Can I paste an Icedrive share link instead?
Not at the moment. A share link opens a download page, not a media file, so it is not one of the links we read. Links that work come from YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, Kick, Google Drive and podcast feeds. Download the file and upload it.
How long does a 3-hour workshop take?
About 6 minutes once uploaded, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. An 80-minute lesson comes back in under 3 minutes.
What does a whole course cost?
Twenty-two lessons of 80 minutes, 1,760 minutes, fit the $18 pack of 3,000 minutes. Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire.
Which file types upload?
Common audio and video files usually go in as they are, such as MP4, MOV, MP3, M4A and WAV. One file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB, before or after a first pack.
Is the recording kept private?
Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Delete the uploaded file and the transcript from your Library when you are done; the copy in Icedrive is unaffected.
