Transcribe a long recording from pCloud from a shared link to a readable transcript.
To transcribe a long recording shared from pCloud, open the link, download the file to your device and upload it here, because pCloud links are not fetched directly; a four-hour focus group is then text in about 8 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and 240 minutes use less than half of the $6 pack of 500 minutes.
From a pCloud link to text
Someone shared the session. You need what was said in it.
A link is a page, not the audio
A pCloud share link opens a web page with a preview and a Download button, and WhipScribe does not read audio from that page. Press Download, save the file, and upload what lands in your downloads folder. If the link points to a whole folder, open it and download the recordings you need one by one rather than as a single archive.
If you use pCloud Drive on your computer
With the pCloud Drive desktop app, your cloud files usually appear as a drive in the file manager. You can drag a recording from there into the box above; the app fetches it from the cloud as the upload reads it, so a slow connection makes both steps slower. Copying it to a local folder first is the steadier route for a very long file.
Skipping the download altogether
The links WhipScribe fetches directly are YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, Kick, Google Drive and podcast feeds. If the recording already sits in Google Drive as well, share it as 'Anyone with the link' and paste that instead. Otherwise the downloaded file goes in from the box above or the upload page.
What four hours turn into
A focus group of four hours comes back with a brief holding the thesis and takeaways, chapters with timestamps for each discussion topic, and the names, figures and dates that came up. Participants are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, so a quote can be traced back to its moment.
Where shared recordings stall
The file was shared in seconds. Listening to it takes hours.

FAQ
pCloud recordings, the usual questions.
How long does a four-hour recording from pCloud take?
Downloading depends on your connection. Transcription then runs at about 2 minutes per hour of audio, so four hours are ready in about 8 minutes after the upload finishes.
What does a research project cost?
Ten interviews of 90 minutes each are 900 minutes, more than the $6 pack holds, so the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes covers them with 1,100 left. One four-hour focus group uses 240 of the $6 pack's 500 minutes.
Can I paste the pCloud link?
No, pCloud links are not fetched. Download the file and upload it. Google Drive share links and folders, YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, Kick and podcast feeds are the links that work when pasted.
What if the pCloud file is larger than 2 GB?
Files over 2 GB start once a pack is on the account, and one file can be up to 5 GB or 10 hours. Without a pack, extract the audio first; several hours of speech as MP3 is a few hundred megabytes.
Will the recording be recognised if it is not in English?
Yes. 99 languages are detected automatically, including Tagalog, Korean and Hebrew. When participants switch language, detection follows the main language and the switches are handled.
Is my file safe, and what are the export options?
Files you bring from pCloud are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete the recording and transcript afterwards. You can export TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON.
