Repair first, read second

You spent the time removing hum and hiss. Now get every sentence of that recording on the page.

Export one clean file

Render the repaired audio from RX as a single file; WAV is the usual choice, and the export dialog in most versions also lists formats such as AIFF or MP3, so check what yours offers. Export the whole session rather than repaired fragments so the timestamps match the original.

Bit depth and the 2 GB line

A 24-bit, 48 kHz mono WAV is about 518 MB an hour, so four hours lands near 2.07 GB, well inside the 5 GB one file can be. Export at 16-bit instead and the same session is about 1.38 GB. The box here takes 500 MB; the upload page takes files up to 5 GB.

A whole collection

Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire.

What the clean-up buys you

Less hiss means fewer guessed words. Music beds, sound effects and crowd noise are not transcribed; the speech is. Speakers are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, and the transcript runs with timestamps throughout.

Rescued audio, still locked in a waveform

RX saved a recording you thought was lost. Reading it still means listening to all four hours.

✗ Repaired but unread

The audio is finally usable, and nobody has time to play it back.

  • Four hours per session to replay
  • 24-bit files over the upload line
  • Notes typed while listening
  • Dates and names caught by ear
  • No index for the collection
  • Quotes found by scrubbing

✓ Repaired and transcribed

One export, one upload, and the text arrives.

  • About 8 minutes for 4 hours
  • 16-bit WAV at about 1.38 GB
  • Chapters with timestamps
  • Names, numbers and dates pulled out
  • Questions the session answered
  • Packs from $4 for 300 minutes

FAQ

iZotope RX exports, answered.

How long does a 4-hour RX export take?

Roughly 8 minutes after upload, at about 2 minutes per audio hour. A 16-bit file uploads faster than a 24-bit one and transcribes the same.

Does running RX first improve the transcript?

Usually, when the problem was steady noise, hum or clicks. Heavy processing can also make voices sound thin, so if a section reads oddly, compare it with the original recording before re-exporting.

What does a collection cost?

On a first visit the opening minutes are free, and the rest of a longer session is transcribed once a pack is bought. One 4-hour session uses 240 minutes of the $4 pack. Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire.

Is there an RX plugin or integration?

No. WhipScribe has no plugin, module or integration with iZotope; it works on the file you export. Export, then upload.

What if the session runs longer than 10 hours?

Each file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB, so a longer recording goes up as two files. A file up to 5 GB starts with a free preview, with or without a pack.

Which languages and exports are available?

99 languages are detected automatically, including recordings that switch language mid-way, which are detected on the main language. Every recording is transcribed on our own servers, and none is ever used for training. Download TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON.
