Transcribe long recordings on a LucidLink filespace copy it local first, then upload once.
To transcribe a long recording on a LucidLink filespace, copy the file from the mounted volume to a local folder and upload that copy here; a 3-hour session is text in about 6 minutes. Ten 3-hour episodes, 1,800 minutes, fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes, and any single file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB.
Shared volumes, long sessions
The whole team can open the recording. Nobody has time to listen to all three hours.
Why copy it before uploading
A LucidLink filespace looks like a local drive, but files are typically streamed from the cloud as they are read. Uploading straight from the mounted volume means the browser pulls the file down and pushes it up at the same time. Copying it to your own disk first, or pinning it locally if your setup allows, usually makes the upload steadier.
Pick the right file in the project
Podcast and video projects on shared volumes hold many versions: isolated tracks, a mixdown, the video export. For a transcript, upload the mixdown or the final export, so every voice is on one file. A separate track per speaker works too, one upload each.
Size and where it goes
A 3-hour stereo WAV at CD quality is close to 2 GB, while the same session as a 128 kbps MP3 is about 173 MB. Smaller copies go into the box above when they are under 500 MB; bigger ones continue on the upload page.
A season on one pack
A season of ten 3-hour episodes is 1,800 minutes. The $12 pack of 2,000 minutes covers it with 200 minutes to spare, and the remaining credits stay on the account for the bonus episodes.

FAQ
LucidLink recordings, answered.
Can WhipScribe read the filespace directly?
No. There is no LucidLink integration and nothing to install on the volume. You copy the recording to your computer and upload it like any other file.
How long does a 3-hour recording take?
Around 6 minutes after the upload completes, at about 2 minutes per audio hour. Our public proof page shows 9.31 hours finished in 1,033 seconds.
What will a season cost?
Ten 3-hour episodes are 1,800 minutes, inside the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. A single long episode fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and a first-time visitor gets the first 20 minutes free.
The multitrack session is over 2 GB. Will it upload?
Files over 2 GB start once a pack is on the account, up to 5 GB or 10 hours each. A compressed mixdown is far smaller and uploads faster, so it is usually the better file to send.
Should I upload each speaker's track separately?
Either works. The mixdown gives one transcript with every voice in order; separate tracks give one transcript per person. Speakers are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters of the mixdown.
What happens to the files after transcription?
Session files are transcribed on our own servers and never used for training. Delete them from your Library whenever you like; the project on the filespace is untouched.
