Zoom, Teams or Meet file · about 2 min per audio hour

Transcribe long Meeting Owl sessions using the recording your meeting app made.

A Meeting Owl is the camera and microphone in the room; the recording itself is made by Zoom, Teams or Google Meet, so download it from that app and upload it here. A 3-hour hybrid session is text in about 6 minutes, the first 20 minutes are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers the other 160.

Where the room recording lives

The Owl hears the room; the meeting app keeps the file. Go to the app.

Zoom

A cloud recording gives an MP4 and usually an audio-only M4A in your Zoom account; the M4A is the smaller upload. A local recording usually lands in a Zoom folder inside Documents on the computer that ran the meeting.

Teams and Google Meet

A Teams recording is downloaded first, usually as an MP4 from OneDrive or SharePoint, and then uploaded. A Google Meet recording is saved to the organiser's Google Drive, so a Drive share link can be pasted with no download.

Fifty-two weeks of meetings

A weekly 90-minute hybrid meeting for a year is 4,680 minutes. The $24 pack of 5,000 minutes covers it with 320 left. For a team that records every week, the $19 a month Workspace is another way to pay.

Notes the whole team can use

A brief of the decisions and takeaways, chapters with timestamps for each agenda item, key quotes, and the names, numbers and dates said. People in the room and on the call are named in the summary, quotes and chapters when they are addressed by name.

Room recordings elsewhere

A hybrid meeting recording is long, and meeting tools rarely give a usable record of it.

✗ The usual trouble

Hours of discussion and no quick way back into them.

  • OpenAI's Whisper API, with its 25 MB ceiling
  • Bots that have to join the call live
  • Free tiers ending at 30 minutes
  • Room voices lost in a single shared stream
  • Action items rebuilt from memory
  • Recordings that expire in the meeting app

✓ After the meeting

No bot in the call; the recording does the work afterwards.

  • Zoom, Teams or Meet file uploaded
  • Drive links pasted, no download
  • Around 6 minutes for a 3-hour session
  • Owl sessions chaptered by agenda item
  • No charge for the meeting's first 20 minutes
  • $24 covers 52 weekly meetings

FAQ

Meeting Owl recordings, the common questions.

When is a 3-hour Owl session ready as text?

In roughly 6 minutes, with each hour of audio taking about 2. A 4.94-hour recording is on the proof page at 372 seconds.

What do one session and a year of sessions cost?

Your first visit includes 20 minutes of the meeting free. Three hours, or 180 minutes, fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes. A year of weekly 90-minute meetings, 4,680 minutes, fits the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes.

Does WhipScribe connect to the Owl or join the call?

No. There is no integration with the Owl and no bot in the meeting. You download the recording from Zoom, Teams or Meet afterwards, or paste a Google Drive link.

Is there a size limit on the meeting file?

Up to 2 GB before a pack, then up to 5 GB once one is on the account, and 10 hours at most per file. A Zoom audio-only M4A keeps an all-day session small; past 10 hours, split it into two files.

Can the meeting be in another language?

99 languages are detected automatically, Japanese, Swedish and Hebrew among them. A meeting that switches language is detected on its main language, and the switches are handled.

Which exports come back, and who sees the meeting?

DOCX and TXT for notes, SRT and VTT for captions, and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and an internal meeting can be deleted with its text after the notes go out.
