Transcribe long recordings kept in Nextcloud downloaded from your own server.
A long recording stored on a Nextcloud server is transcribed by downloading it from the web interface or the desktop sync folder and uploading it here; a 6-hour workshop becomes text in about 12 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers all 360 minutes with 140 left.
From your server to a transcript
You host your own files for a reason. Here is exactly where the recording goes when you transcribe it.
Take the file off the server
In the Nextcloud web interface, open the folder, use the file's menu and choose Download. If the desktop client syncs that folder, the recording is already a normal file on your computer, ready to pick here. Either way, what reaches us is one file, not access to your server.
Public shares are not fetched
A Nextcloud public share link opens a page on your server, not a media file, so it is not among the links we read. The links we do read come from YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, Kick, Google Drive or a podcast feed. Upload the file itself; anything bigger than this box takes continues on the upload page.
Where the audio is processed
Your recording is transcribed on our own servers, and it is never used for training. The file is not passed to a third-party AI service, and you can delete it and its transcript once you have the text, which leaves your Nextcloud copy as the one you keep.
Six hours in one piece
One file can run up to 10 hours or 5 GB, so a full-day workshop or an all-day assembly needs no cutting. Before a first pack, uploads can be up to 2 GB; past that, the file starts once a pack is on the account.
Why self-hosted archives stay silent
Your server keeps every recording. None of them can be searched by what was said.
✗ Archived on the server
Recordings are kept for the record and found only by folder and date.
- Hours of audio per meeting
- Search that only sees file names
- Minutes typed from memory
- Members asking what was decided
- No timestamps to cite
- A volunteer who replays everything
✓ Searchable text beside the file
Download once, upload once, and file the transcript next to the recording.
- A six-hour file read in about 12 minutes
- First 20 minutes of the workshop free
- $6 covers 500 minutes
- Chapters that track the members' agenda
- Names, sums and dates lifted out
- DOCX or TXT to store in Nextcloud

FAQ
Nextcloud recordings, the questions people ask.
How long will six hours from Nextcloud take?
About 12 minutes once uploaded, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A two-hour meeting takes about 4. The transcript stays in your Library until you download or delete it.
What does a 6-hour file cost?
Six hours is 360 minutes, which fits the $6 pack of 500 with 140 minutes left. A group recording a three-hour meeting every month uses 2,160 minutes a year, which is more than the $12 pack, so the $24 pack of 5,000 is the one to buy.
Is there a Nextcloud app or integration?
No. There is no app, plugin or connector for Nextcloud, and we never ask for access to your server. You download the recording and upload it, which keeps your storage exactly as it was.
What file types and sizes work?
Common audio and video files upload as they are, such as MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4 and MOV. One file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB; before a first pack the upload limit is 2 GB. If a file is refused at upload, an MP3 conversion is the fix to try first.
Which languages can it transcribe?
99 languages, detected automatically, so a meeting in Swedish, Spanish or Hebrew needs no setting. Mixed-language meetings are detected on whichever language dominates.
Can I store the transcript back in Nextcloud?
Yes. Export DOCX or TXT for the minutes, SRT or VTT for captions, or JSON if you index it yourself, and save the file next to the recording. Each speaker is identified by name in the summary, the key quotes and the chapters.
