Transcribe your Patreon audio posts and give members a version to read.
A long Patreon audio post is transcribed from the original file the creator uploaded, which is normally still on the creator's own computer, and a 100-minute members' episode is text in a little over 3 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and six 100-minute posts a month, 600 minutes, fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
For the creator
You own the audio behind the post. That file is where the transcript begins.
The original, not the player
An audio post on Patreon plays inside the page for members; there is no public link for us to fetch. The file you attached when you made the post, usually an MP3 or M4A from your editor, is the source to upload. It goes in as it is, up to 2 GB before your first pack.
Only what you own
This page is for creators transcribing their own posts, whether the post is a members' episode, a voice memo update or a long recorded reading. Members' personal feeds are for listening and belong to each member, so they are not a link to paste here. If a member wants a text version, the creator is the one who can provide it.
Six posts, one pack
Six members' episodes of 100 minutes a month come to 600 minutes, a little over the $6 pack of 500 minutes. The $12 pack of 2,000 minutes covers that month with 1,400 to spare. An archive of 70 posts at 65 minutes is 4,550 minutes, on the $24 pack of 5,000.
A post members can skim
The brief, the chapters with timestamps and the list of names, figures and dates turn into a written companion post. Co-hosts are named in the summary and key quotes, and the questions the episode answers become a quick contents list for members who read instead of listen.

Members pay for the long episodes. Plenty of them would rather read one.

FAQ
Patreon audio posts: creator questions.
Can I paste the link to my Patreon post?
No. Audio posts play inside Patreon for members and there is no public audio address for us to read. Upload the original file from your computer instead; if the same episode is also on YouTube or a public feed, that link works.
Is there a Patreon integration?
No integration, no login and no app to approve. WhipScribe only sees the file you upload.
How long does a 100-minute post take?
A little over 3 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A two-hour post takes about 4, and the wait is usually the upload rather than the transcription. Our public proof at /proof/long-files shows 9.31 hours of audio finished in 1,033 seconds.
What does a month of posts cost?
Twenty minutes are free the first time. Four 100-minute posts are 400 minutes, on the $6 pack of 500. Six of them, 600 minutes, need the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
Can a member transcribe a post they paid for?
Transcribe only what you made or have the right to use. A member who wants text can ask the creator, who holds the original file.
Do members' episodes stay private?
They are transcribed on our own servers and never used for training. You can delete each file and its transcript whenever you like.
