Transcribe a long Philips VoiceTracer recording a whole day of sessions in one file.
A Philips VoiceTracer recording, MP3 or WAV, uploads here as one file, and an eight-hour conference day comes back as text in about 16 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers the other 460 of that day with a little to spare.
One recorder, one long day
The VoiceTracer ran from the first session to the closing remarks. Upload the day as it was recorded.
Off the recorder in a minute
Connect the VoiceTracer to a computer over USB and it mounts as a drive holding its recordings as MP3 or WAV files, depending on the quality setting. Copy the long one and send it from upload page; there is nothing to install.
Mind the WAV setting
A day recorded as MP3 at 192 kbps is about 690 MB, comfortably inside every limit. The same day as 44.1 kHz stereo WAV is over 5 GB, so for all-day sessions MP3 is the setting that fits in one upload.
Chapters by session
A conference day comes back with chapters where the speaker or the topic changes, a brief with the main points of each talk, and every name and date that was mentioned. Speakers are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters.
Proof at this length
Public runs on our proof page include 9.31 hours of audio done in 1,033 seconds and 4.94 hours in 372 seconds. A full eight-hour day sits between those two, and you can read both transcripts at /proof/long-files.
All-day recordings, elsewhere
Most services were not built for a file that started at nine and ended at five.

FAQ
Philips VoiceTracer recordings, the common questions.
How long does an eight-hour VoiceTracer file take?
About 16 minutes once uploaded, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A two-hour lecture finishes in about four.
What does a full eight-hour day cost?
Eight hours is 480 minutes. On your first recording the first 20 minutes are free, so a $6 pack of 500 minutes covers the rest. If you record a two-day event, 960 minutes fits the $12 pack of 2,000.
What is the largest file I can send?
10 hours or 5 GB, whichever comes first. Up to 2 GB uploads before you hold a pack, and anything bigger begins as soon as one is on the account.
The day ran over 10 hours. What do I do?
Split it into two files, for example at the lunch break, and upload both. Each one becomes its own transcript with its own chapters.
Which languages work?
99 languages, detected automatically. Tagalog and English switching within one session is handled. Cebuano, Ilocano, Hiligaynon and other regional Philippine languages are supported but trail the major languages; treat the result as a fast first draft and plan one review pass.
What can I export, and who can see the file?
All five formats, TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, come from one transcription. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
