Recorded workshops · course lessons · 2 h in about 4 min

Transcribe Podia workshops and course lessons and sell the replay with its text.

A recorded Podia workshop of 2 hours is transcribed in about 4 minutes, and the first 20 minutes are free. That workshop uses 120 of the 500 minutes in a $6 pack, and eight such workshops, 960 minutes, fit the $12 pack of 2,000. There is no Podia connection: you upload the workshop recording or the lesson file you made, or paste its YouTube or Vimeo link.

What a workshop replay becomes

A workshop is two hours of teaching. Its transcript is your next product.

Bring the original recording

A live workshop is usually recorded in the call or streaming tool you ran it on, then uploaded to your Podia product. The file on your side, usually an MP4, is the one to send to upload page; a file over 2 GB goes through once a pack is on the account.

Lessons hosted as links

If a lesson's video sits on YouTube or Vimeo and Podia only embeds it, paste the video's own link and skip the download, as long as the link plays for someone outside your account.

From replay to written guide

The brief gives the workshop's thesis and takeaways, the chapters give it a structure, and the names, numbers and dates are pulled out for you. Together they draft a companion guide you can attach to the replay.

Buyers who download

If you allow buyers to download a workshop, they can transcribe it for their own notes. A buyer only transcribes what the creator lets them save; nothing here reaches into a Podia account. Creators who sell a replay can also post its transcript beside it, which helps buyers find the part they came for.

The gap after a live workshop

The workshop ended an hour ago. The notes still need writing.

✗ After the workshop, usually

Hours of replay, and no written version for buyers.

  • Rewatching to write the recap
  • A replay buyers skim and abandon
  • A file far over the Whisper API's 25 MB upload cap
  • Splitting the recording for a short-clip tool
  • Typing the attendee questions by hand
  • A monthly plan for an occasional workshop

✓ After the workshop, here

A transcript and a recap draft before the follow-up email goes out.

  • Two hours read in about 4 minutes
  • Takeaways in the brief
  • Chapters for each workshop segment
  • The attendee questions listed
  • DOCX to edit into a guide
  • SRT and VTT for the replay

FAQ

Podia workshops and lessons, answered.

How long is the wait for a 2-hour workshop?

Roughly 4 minutes: about 2 for every hour recorded. A 30-minute lesson takes about a minute.

What do eight workshops cost to transcribe?

Eight 2-hour workshops are 960 minutes and fit the $12 pack of 2,000. One workshop, 120 minutes, fits the $6 pack of 500 with 380 left. On a first visit the first 20 minutes are free and the pack continues from where that preview ends.

Which file should I upload?

The original recording from the tool you ran the workshop in, usually an MP4. Files up to 2 GB upload before your first pack; with one, the limit is 10 hours or 5 GB per file. Should the upload refuse it, convert to MP3 and try again.

Do I need to split a long workshop?

No. One file runs up to 10 hours, which covers a full-day workshop. Keeping it whole keeps one timeline for the captions.

Can workshops in other languages be transcribed?

Yes. The language is picked up automatically from 99. A workshop held in Spanish, Korean or Afrikaans comes back in that language.

Which formats do I get, and is my content protected?

Workshops download as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON. Workshop recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete them at any time.
