Galaxy Tab · Voice Recorder lectures · about 4 min for 2 hours

Transcribe lectures from your Galaxy Tab Voice Recorder every word of the class, searchable.

A lecture captured with Samsung's Voice Recorder on a Galaxy Tab is usually saved as an M4A, and once you upload it a 2-hour class comes back as searchable text in about 4 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and four 2-hour lectures (480 minutes) fit inside the $6 pack of 500 minutes.

From the tablet to the transcript

A tablet on the desk catches the lecturer clearly; the transcript makes those hours readable.

Finding the file on the tab

Open Voice Recorder, long-press the recording in its list and choose Share; that route works whatever the folder is called on your One UI version. If you prefer the file manager, recordings usually sit in a Recordings or Voice Recorder folder in internal storage, so check My Files. Share it to Google Drive or straight to the browser, then upload it on upload page.

A term's worth of lectures

Two 90-minute lectures a week over a 14-week term make 2,520 minutes, which sits on the $24 pack of 5,000 with room for a second subject. A single elective that meets once a week for 2 hours uses 1,680 minutes across the same term, inside the $12 pack of 2,000.

No app inside the tablet

WhipScribe does not connect to Voice Recorder or to your Samsung account, and nothing gets installed on the tab. You choose the file, it is processed, and the text appears in your browser.

Revision that starts with the brief

The brief opens with the lecture's thesis and its takeaways, chapters follow each change of topic, and every definition, name and date the lecturer said aloud is listed with its timestamp. Before an exam, the chat answers questions such as where the lecturer explained a formula, and points you to the minute.

Tablet recordings elsewhere

A recorded lecture you never replay is just a large file on a tablet.

✗ Kept as audio

Two hours of sound and a page of half-finished notes.

  • Scrubbing a waveform to find one definition
  • Notes that stop when the slides speed up
  • OpenAI's Whisper API, capped at 25 MB, refusing a long lecture
  • Storage filling up term after term
  • Replaying the whole class before an exam
  • Nothing searchable across a whole term

✓ Uploaded and transcribed

Every class as text you can search and quote.

  • About 4 minutes for a 2-hour tablet lecture
  • Four lectures on the $6 pack
  • Definitions listed with timestamps
  • Chapters per topic
  • Chat to find an explanation
  • DOCX for revision notes

FAQ

Galaxy Tab recordings, the common questions.

How long does a 2-hour lecture take to come back?

Expect about 4 minutes, because each hour of audio takes roughly 2 minutes to process. A full day of classes is no slower in proportion: a 9.31-hour file on the public proof page took 1,033 seconds.

Is an M4A from the tablet too big to upload?

Almost never. Voice audio at 128 kbps grows by roughly 58 MB an hour, so a 2-hour lecture is near 115 MB. A whole study day fits in one file, since the ceiling is 10 hours or 5 GB, and a file under 2 GB uploads even before you buy anything.

What will a semester cost?

Your first visit includes the first 20 minutes free; a longer lecture is previewed, and a pack from $6 transcribes the rest from where the preview stopped. After that, one 2-hour class uses 120 minutes, so the $6 pack of 500 minutes holds four, and a full term usually belongs on the $12 or $24 pack.

May I record my lecturer?

Record only classes your lecturer or institution allows you to record, and keep the text for your own study unless they agree to more.

My lecturer switches between English and another language. Does that work?

Yes. 99 languages are detected automatically, and a class that moves between English and, say, Korean or Tagalog is detected on its main language with the switches handled.

Which files can I download, and who sees my lectures?

Every lecture downloads as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON with its timestamps kept. Your lectures are transcribed on our own servers and never used for training, and deleting a recording removes its text too.
