Phone in the pocket, words on the page

The mic clips on and pairs with the phone. The long conversation it records is already sitting in your phone.

Where the recording ends up

The MoveMic pairs with a phone and records through Shure's app or a camera app that supports it, so the file lives on the phone: in the gallery, in the app's own library, or wherever you exported it. Check the app's export or share menu if you cannot see it in the gallery.

Upload without a computer

Open this page in the phone's browser and pick the file. Two hours of phone video is often over a gigabyte; this box takes up to 500 MB and the main upload page takes the rest, up to 10 hours or 5 GB. An audio-only export is much lighter on mobile data.

Two mics, two voices

With two MoveMics, a host and a guest each wear one and the phone can record both into the same file. Upload that one file; both voices are transcribed together, and the people are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters rather than on each line.

Outdoors and on the move

Traffic, wind and background music are not transcribed; the speech is. A lavalier close to the mouth helps a lot on a busy street. The text comes back with a brief, chapters with timestamps and the places, names and numbers mentioned along the way.

Phone recordings, usually

A two-hour talk recorded on a phone is easy to make. It is rarely easy to use afterwards.

✗ Without a transcript

Great audio, hard to reuse.

  • A video too long to rewatch
  • Free apps that cap the length
  • Uploads failing on mobile data
  • Quotes found by scrolling
  • Street noise mistaken for words
  • No notes from the best part

✓ With WhipScribe

Readable within minutes.

  • About 4 minutes for a 2-hour walk
  • Uploads straight from the phone
  • Speech kept, traffic left out
  • Chapters along the route
  • Places and names in one list
  • SRT for the posted video

Sample

A walk-and-talk recorded on a phone with two clip-on mics, as it comes back.

Written for this page as an example, not from a real walk. The timestamps follow a 2-hour recording.

FAQ

Shure MoveMic recordings, answered

How long does a 2-hour MoveMic recording take?

About 4 minutes, and a 30-minute clip takes about 1.

What does a weekly show cost?

The first 20 minutes are free on a first visit; a longer recording is previewed, and a pack transcribes the rest. A 2-hour episode is 120 minutes. Four episodes a month, 480 minutes, fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes with 20 left; a year of them, 6,240 minutes, would take the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes plus a $12 pack of 2,000.

Do I need a computer?

No. Uploading from the phone's browser works. Files up to 2 GB go before a first pack, and up to 5 GB with one. If the upload is interrupted on a weak connection, try again on Wi-Fi, or put the file in Google Drive and paste the share link instead.

Is WhipScribe part of Shure's app?

No. There is no integration with Shure's apps or hardware and no plugin. You save or share the recording, then upload it or paste a Google Drive link.

What languages can it handle?

99, detected automatically, so nothing needs to be set. A conversation that drifts between two languages is transcribed on its main one. Shure's app may let you set the recording quality; for speech, the default is usually plenty, and a smaller file uploads faster on mobile data.

What can I download, and is it private?

TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Each recording is transcribed on our own servers and never used for training.
