How long does a 90-minute talk take?
Around 3 minutes, because each audio hour takes about 2. Longer files follow the same pace; /proof/long-files lists 9.31 hours in 1,033 seconds.
Can I paste a SoundCloud track link?
Paste a podcast RSS feed if the account publishes one. Otherwise download the file where the uploader has allowed downloads, and upload it here.
Will a DJ set or mix be transcribed?
No. Music, sound effects and crowd noise are not transcribed, so a mix gives little or no text. Talks, interviews and the spoken parts of radio shows are what this is for.
How big is a downloaded file?
It is whatever the uploader offered, often the original WAV or an MP3. A CD-quality WAV is about 635 MB an hour (1,411.2 kbps times 3,600 seconds, divided by 8), so a 2-hour WAV is about 1.27 GB, inside the 2 GB allowed before a pack. After that, a single SoundCloud download can be as long as 10 hours or as large as 5 GB.
