Transcribe a Studio One podcast session from the exported mixdown.
Export the podcast session as one mixdown (in most versions, Song, then Export Mixdown) to WAV, MP3 or FLAC, and upload that file here, up to 10 hours or 5 GB; a published episode can also come in by its RSS feed. A 2-hour episode is text in about 4 minutes, the first 20 minutes are free, and four of them, 480 minutes, fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes.
Episode out of the DAW, text out of the episode
Studio One finishes the episode. The transcript gives it show notes, chapters and captions.
One file from the session
Export Mixdown writes the main output to a single file; set the range to the whole song so the episode is not cut at the loop markers. A .song file holds the project, not the audio, so it will not upload.
Already published? Use the feed
Episodes that are live on a podcast feed do not need exporting again. Paste the RSS feed link here and pick the episode, which is handy for transcribing a back catalogue.
A year of episodes
Forty 2-hour episodes add up to 4,800 minutes, which fits the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes with 200 left. Weekly shows that publish four a month fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes, 480 minutes each month.
Exports above 500 MB
This page's box stops at 500 MB. A WAV mixdown of a long episode is usually larger, so send it from the upload page, which takes up to 5 GB per file.
After the mixdown
The episode is mixed and mastered. The written parts of it still are not.
✗ Without text
Every written part of the episode starts from listening again.
- Show notes typed while replaying
- Chapter times copied by hand
- A 25 MB limit on the OpenAI Whisper API
- Guest quotes paraphrased, not checked
- No captions on the video clip
- A back catalogue nobody can search
✓ With the transcript
The episode becomes text the rest of the work starts from.
- A brief to start the show notes
- Chapters with timestamps
- Quotes taken word for word
- Figures and dates listed
- SRT and VTT for clips
- About 4 minutes per 2-hour episode

FAQ
Studio One episodes, answered.
How fast is a 2-hour episode transcribed?
About 4 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. The proof page shows 9.31 hours done in 1,033 seconds.
What does a month of episodes cost?
A first-time visitor gets the first 20 minutes free; a longer episode is previewed before a pack transcribes the rest. Four 2-hour episodes use 480 minutes of the $6 pack. A back catalogue of forty goes on the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes.
Which export format should I choose?
Any of WAV, MP3 or FLAC uploads. MP3 at 128 kbps keeps a 2-hour episode near 115 MB, small enough for the box on this page; a 16-bit stereo WAV of the same length is about 1.3 GB.
Are the hosts and guests told apart?
The people speaking are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, so you can see who made each point. The transcript itself reads as continuous text with timestamps. Ask the chat which guest mentioned a book or a date and it points you to the minute.
Does intro music get transcribed?
No. Music and sound effects are left out and the speech is transcribed. A long musical break shows as a gap between timestamps, and a voice talking over a bed is still picked up when it sits clearly above the music.
Which downloads do I get, and is the audio kept private?
TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Episodes are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
