Transcribe a long TwistedWave recording from your Mac or iPhone.
Save the recording from TwistedWave on Mac or iOS as a WAV, AIFF, M4A or MP3 file, then upload it here from the browser, up to 10 hours or 5 GB. A 75-minute interview is text in about 2.5 minutes, the first 20 minutes are free, and six interviews (450 minutes) fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes.
Recorded on the go, read at the desk
TwistedWave is quick to record with. The long interview it captured becomes text just as quickly.
On the Mac
Use Save As or Export in the File menu and pick a format; WAV and AIFF keep full quality, M4A and MP3 keep the file small. A spoken interview needs no more than 44.1 kHz mono. Upload the saved file in Safari or any other browser.
On iPhone or iPad
Use the share or export option in the app to save the recording to the Files app, then tap the upload box on this page and pick it from Files. The menu names vary between versions; the route through Files is the reliable one.
Interviews for a project
Eight 75-minute interviews make 600 minutes, past the $6 pack, so a set like that fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes with 1,400 left for the next round.
Get consent before you record
Recording an interview or call needs the consent the law where you are requires. Tell the other person before you press record, and say it again on the recording so the transcript carries it.

FAQ
TwistedWave recordings, answered.
How long does a 75-minute interview take?
About 2.5 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A 3-hour recording takes about 6.
What do a set of interviews cost?
A first-time visitor gets the first 20 minutes free; a longer recording is previewed before a pack transcribes the rest. Six 75-minute interviews use 450 minutes of the $6 pack of 500 minutes. Eight use 600 and go on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. Credits never expire, so minutes left after one project stay for the next.
Which format should I save in?
Any of the common ones uploads. M4A or MP3 keeps a long interview small enough to send from a phone; WAV and AIFF are fine on a fast connection, though a 16-bit stereo WAV is about 635 MB an hour and goes to the main upload page past 500 MB.
Can I upload straight from my iPhone?
Yes. Save the recording to Files from TwistedWave, open this page in Safari and choose the file in the upload box. Keep Safari in front while a large file uploads; a slow mobile connection is the usual reason a long upload stalls, and Wi-Fi is quicker.
Will both voices be identified?
The people in the interview are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters. The transcript itself is continuous text with timestamps.
Which downloads are there, and who can hear the recording?
TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
