Transcribe long recordings from Vimeo Events straight from the Vimeo link.
A Vimeo Events live stream is archived as a video in your Vimeo library, so you paste its Vimeo link here and a 4-hour event is transcribed in about 8 minutes, with nothing downloaded. Those 240 minutes fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes with 260 to spare, and your first 20 minutes are free.
From the Vimeo library
The archive is already online, so the fastest route skips your own connection.
Where the archive lives
When a live event on Vimeo ends, the recording is kept as a video in the account's library. Open it, copy the video's link and paste it in the box. We fetch the video from Vimeo directly, so a long event never has to travel down to your computer and back up again.
When the link will not open
A video whose privacy settings keep outsiders out may not open for us. Change the setting while the transcript runs, or download the file from Vimeo, as the owner can, and upload it instead; the upload page takes one file up to 5 GB. There is no Vimeo integration on our side, only the link or the file.
Costs for an events calendar
One 4-hour event is 240 minutes, inside the $6 pack of 500. A calendar of ten such events comes to 2,400 minutes, more than the $12 pack holds, so the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes covers it and leaves 2,600. At about 2 minutes per audio hour, each event finishes in roughly 8 minutes.
What the audience gets afterwards
SRT and VTT files caption the archived video, and the text becomes a recap page. Each event comes with a brief, chapters with timestamps for every segment, and the names, numbers and dates said on stage, with each speaker named in the summary, key quotes and chapters.
Archived events elsewhere
Downloading a four-hour archive just to upload it again wastes an afternoon.

Moving a big video twice before anything happens.
- Downloading gigabytes of archived video

- Splitting the event into parts to fit
- Captions typed in by hand
- Segments nobody can find again

The archive goes from Vimeo to text without passing through you.
- One pasted link, nothing downloaded
- Roughly 8 minutes for the full 4 hours
- Chapters for every segment of the programme
- Event hosts and guests named in summary and quotes
- One event on the $6 pack
- SRT and VTT ready for the player

FAQ
Vimeo Events recordings, the common questions.
How long does a Vimeo Events archive take?
About 2 minutes per audio hour: a 4-hour event in roughly 8 minutes and a 90-minute session in about 3. The proof page includes a 4.94-hour file finished in 372 seconds.
What does a 4-hour event cost?
The first 20 minutes are free on a first visit, and the event is previewed beyond that. A pack from $6 transcribes the rest from where the preview ended; 240 minutes fit the $6 pack of 500. Ten events a year, 2,400 minutes, call for the $24 pack of 5,000.
Is there a length limit, and should I split a very long event?
One recording can run to 10 hours or 5 GB. Only an event longer than 10 hours needs splitting, into two files. A downloaded file over 2 GB uploads once a pack is on the account.
Do I have to download the archive first?
No. Paste the Vimeo link to the video. Download only if the link will not open because of its privacy settings.
Which languages can the event be in?
Any of 99 languages, picked up automatically. An event in English with a section in Spanish is detected on its main language, and the speech is transcribed, while music between segments is not.
Which files come back, and is the video private?
TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON for every event. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and the transcript is yours to delete.
