Transcribe a Zoom meeting with interpretation in the original language, the interpreted one, or both.
A Zoom meeting held with language interpretation transcribes once the host uploads the recording, floor audio or an interpreted channel, and a 2-hour meeting comes back as text in about 4 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free; a year of monthly 2-hour meetings, 1,440 floor minutes, fits the $12 pack of 2,000, and adding the Spanish channel, 2,880 minutes, moves to the $24 pack of 5,000.
Interpretation in Zoom
Check which audio your recording keeps before the meeting, not after.
What the recording captures
Depending on your Zoom version, settings and whether you record to the cloud or locally, a recording of an interpreted meeting may hold the original audio only, or a language channel as well. Run a short test with your interpreters before the real meeting and listen to what the file contains. Cloud recordings are usually an MP4, often with an audio-only M4A alongside.
Floor and channel as separate files
When you have both, upload them as two files rather than one mixed track. Each is detected on its own language, so the English floor comes back in English and the Spanish channel in Spanish. The box here takes 500 MB; a larger file continues on the main upload page, still up to 10 hours or 5 GB.
A year of meetings, priced
A monthly 2-hour meeting is 120 minutes, well inside the $6 pack of 500. Twelve of them make 1,440 minutes of floor audio, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000 with 560 left. Add the interpreted channel for every meeting and the year is 2,880 minutes, on the $24 pack of 5,000 with 2,120 spare.
Minutes from the floor
Write minutes and quote people from the floor audio, because an interpreted channel is the interpreter's rendering. Each file returns with a brief, chapters per agenda item, the names, dates and figures said, and speakers identified and named in the summary and key quotes.
After an interpreted meeting
Half the room listened in another language. The minutes should not leave them out.
✗ A meeting heard twice
Two languages, one recording, and minutes written by someone following only one of them.
- Minutes drafted from the English side alone
- Members asking for the text in their language
- Interpreted wording mistaken for the speaker's
- Votes and motions hard to find again
- No captions for the posted replay
- Weeks before a bilingual summary appears
✓ Both languages as text
The floor for the minutes, the channel for its readers.
- About 4 minutes for a 2-hour meeting
- Each file in the language it carries
- Speakers named in the summary and key quotes
- Chapters per agenda item
- Motions, dates and amounts listed
- SRT and VTT for each language version

FAQ
Zoom language interpretation, answered.
Does WhipScribe join the Zoom meeting?
No. No bot joins a live call and there is no Zoom integration. The host records the meeting in Zoom and uploads the file afterwards, or pastes a link if the recording was published on YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive.
Will the transcript include the interpreters?
Only if the recording you upload contains their channel. A file of the original audio gives the speakers' own words; a file of a language channel gives the interpreter's rendering. Upload whichever you need, or both as two files.
What if speakers switch between languages on the floor?
The recording is detected on its main language and English terms inside another language are handled. For a floor that is split evenly between two languages, the interpreted channel in one language gives cleaner reading text.
How much does a year of meetings cost?
A first-time visitor gets the first 20 minutes free; a longer meeting is previewed and a pack from $6 transcribes the rest from where the preview ended. Twelve 2-hour meetings of floor audio fit the $12 pack of 2,000; floor plus one channel for the year goes on the $24 pack of 5,000.
Do I need consent to record?
Recording a meeting needs the consent the law where you are requires. Zoom shows a recording notice, but telling members in the agenda as well avoids surprises.
Which exports, and where does the audio go?
TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, with 99 languages detected automatically. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
