For producers and archives

Every hour of talk on the air, written down in Malay and easy to search.

Talk kept, songs dropped

Talk radio is presenters, guests and callers between songs. The speech is transcribed; songs, music beds and sound effects are not, so the text reads as the conversation with the breaks closed up and the timestamps still showing where each segment sat.

Daily shows, costed

A daily 2-hour show across seven days is 840 minutes, which belongs on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. A month of thirty 2-hour shows is 3,600 minutes, inside the $24 pack of 5,000. All prices are in US dollars, credits never expire, and no subscription is required.

Logger file or podcast feed

Upload the hour or the full show from the station logger or the producer's own recording, usually an MP3 or WAV. If the show is published as a podcast, paste the feed link instead and nothing needs downloading. Large studio WAV files continue on upload page.

Segments you can find again

Chapters follow the show's topics with timestamps, the brief lists what was discussed, and the names, numbers and dates mentioned on air are pulled out. The presenter and guests are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters.

Why a show archive goes unused

Hundreds of hours of Malay talk sit on a drive that nobody can search.

✗ Audio only

Finding the morning a guest discussed one topic means listening through whole shows, and requests for a quote take an afternoon.

  • Whole shows replayed to find a minute
  • Quotes typed out by hand
  • Software tuned for English talk radio
  • Songs muddled into the text
  • Long logger files cut into pieces
  • No record of what each hour covered

✓ A text archive

Every show becomes Malay text with chapters and timestamps the day it airs. A producer answering a listener request, or a researcher tracing how a topic was discussed across a year, searches words instead of replaying hours.

  • Roughly 4 minutes for each 2-hour broadcast
  • Malay found from the audio
  • Songs dropped, every spoken word kept
  • Presenter and guests named in the summary
  • A chapter for every Malay segment
  • Four broadcasts inside the $6 pack

Sample

An afternoon phone-in, around a song break.

This sample is illustrative and invented for this page; no station, presenter or caller is quoted. Notice the jump in timestamps where a song played: the music is not transcribed.

FAQ

Malay radio shows, answered.

How fast is a 2-hour Malay show transcribed?

Roughly 4 minutes; every audio hour costs about 2 minutes of processing. A 3-hour weekend programme needs about 6, so a show can be in text before the producers have finished their wrap-up meeting.

What would a month of daily Malay shows cost?

Thirty 2-hour shows are 3,600 minutes, inside the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes. A single week of daily 2-hour shows is 840 minutes on the $12 pack of 2,000, and four shows of 480 minutes fit the $6 pack of 500.

Can I upload the whole day from the logger?

One file can run to 10 hours or 5 GB, whichever comes first, so a full broadcast day of up to 10 hours does not need cutting. Before the first pack an upload can be up to 2 GB; a longer logger day is better uploaded as two files.

Does it handle presenters who mix Malay and English?

Yes. The show is detected on its main language, Malay, and the English phrases presenters and callers drop in are handled and kept. Callers on a phone line are quieter and thinner than the studio microphones, so give their passages a quick check.

What about the songs and advertisements?

Songs, jingles and music beds are not transcribed; the speech is. Spoken words in a read advertisement are speech and appear in the text, so trim them in the DOCX if you only want editorial content.

What formats come back, and who can hear the broadcast audio?

A single Malay show run yields TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Malay show recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Transcribe shows you have the right to use, such as your own station's or your own programme's.
