Transcribe a Mandarin church service so the sermon reaches the members who missed Sunday.
A 2-hour Mandarin church service recorded in Canada is turned into Chinese text in about 4 minutes, with Mandarin detected automatically and the first 20 minutes free. Four such Sundays, 480 minutes, fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and a quarter of thirteen services fits the $12 pack.
For the church's AV and media team
One sermon serves the Mandarin service, the English ministry and the cell groups, once it is on the page.
Interpreted sermons both ways
Many Chinese congregations preach in Mandarin with an English interpreter beside the pulpit, or the other way round. Both voices are in the recording, and both come through in the same transcript. Read the interpreted passages once before posting, since two voices overlapping at the pulpit are the hardest part of any service recording.
Cell group material by Monday
The brief gives the sermon's thesis and takeaways, and the questions the message answers, a ready base for the week's 小组 discussion sheet.
Scripture and notices listed
Book and chapter references, the dates of the next baptism class and the names of visiting speakers are pulled out with timestamps.
Captions for the replay
SRT and VTT add Chinese captions to the posted video. Very long camera files go through the upload page, and a YouTube replay goes in as a link.
What the media team carries
The service is streamed, then the sermon lives only in the video.
✗ Without text
A volunteer types sermon notes from memory, and the English ministry never gets the Mandarin message at all. Members who moved to another city or who care for children during the service lose the thread of a sermon series week by week. Past messages are hard to find when a pastor wants to refer back to one.
- Notes typed late on Sunday night
- No searchable archive of past sermons
- Bilingual services that confuse English-only tools
- Captions skipped on the replay
- Scripture references buried in two hours
- Elderly members who cannot follow a stream
✓ With the transcript
Sunday's service is a Chinese document before lunch, ready to edit and share. The English ministry works from a volunteer's English edit of the Mandarin text, the cell group leaders build their questions from the brief, and the archive of past sermons becomes searchable by topic.
- Full text of the Mandarin sermon
- Interpretation kept in the same file
- The pastor and interpreter named in the summary
- Scripture and dates listed
- SRT for captions
- Four Sundays on $6
Sample output

FAQ
Mandarin church services, answered.
How long does a 2-hour Mandarin service take?
About 4 minutes. A 90-minute service is close to 3, since the work runs at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. Upload on Sunday afternoon and the text is there before the media team has packed up the cameras.
What does a quarter or a year of services cost?
Each 2-hour service is 120 minutes. Four fit the $6 pack of 500, thirteen, 1,560 minutes, fit the $12 pack of 2,000, and forty, 4,800 minutes, fit the $24 pack of 5,000. A full year of 52 services, 6,240 minutes, is one $24 pack plus one $12 pack.
Our sermon is interpreted into English line by line. Which language is it detected as?
The recording is detected on its main language, usually Mandarin, and the English interpretation is handled in the same pass. You do not pick anything; 99 languages are detected automatically.
The service video is several gigabytes. Will it upload?
One file can be up to 5 GB or 10 hours. Before a first pack, uploads go up to 2 GB, so a larger camera file starts once a pack is on the account. Pasting the YouTube link of the livestream avoids the upload entirely.
Are hymns and the worship set transcribed?
No, music is not transcribed. Prayers, readings, the sermon and the announcements are speech, and they come through.
Is the recording kept private?
Yes. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, so prayer requests spoken from the front stay with the church. Downloads are TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Only the account that uploaded the service can open it.
