Transcribe a Mandarin lecture for Chinese-medium courses.
A Chinese-medium lecture or seminar recorded in Singapore usually runs two to three hours and is transcribed at about 2 minutes per hour of audio, so a 3-hour seminar returns in roughly 6 minutes. You get the first 20 minutes free, and thirteen weekly 2-hour lectures come to 1,560 minutes, inside the $12 pack of 2,000.
What a Mandarin course needs
Read the lecture in Chinese characters instead of replaying it.
Characters, not romanisation
A lecture given in Mandarin comes back in Chinese characters, detected without a setting. English terms the lecturer drops in, such as a theory's name, are handled inside the same transcript.
Only what you may download
Transcribe the recordings your lecturer or course page lets you download, or the ones you were allowed to record. Upload the file from upload page, or paste a YouTube or Google Drive link when the course shares one.
The module in minutes
Thirteen 2-hour lectures make 1,560 minutes on the $12 pack of 2,000, leaving 440 minutes for tutorials. Two modules of 3-hour seminars, 4,680 minutes in all, go on the $24 pack of 5,000.
Ready before the tutorial
At about 2 minutes per audio hour, a seminar uploaded on the bus home is text before you reach the door. The brief lists the argument and takeaways, and the chapters mark each new topic.
Why lecture video is hard to revise from
Scrubbing a three-hour seminar for one quotation wastes an evening.
✗ Video only
A lecture recording is easy to keep and slow to search, and most tools assume the lecture is in English. Students in Chinese-medium courses often get recordings with no captions at all, and a long seminar is hard to skim. Writing notes while keeping up with the reading list leaves gaps that show up in the exam.
- Replaying hours to find one passage
- Tools that expect English by default
- Pinyin guesses instead of characters
- Upload limits smaller than a seminar
- Handwritten notes that miss the reading list
- A subscription for one semester
✓ A lecture you can search
The recording turned into Chinese text with chapters and timestamps. Revision starts from the chapter list, and a phrase the lecturer used can be searched in characters. Classmates who missed a week can read the session instead of watching it at double speed.
- Six minutes or so for a 3-hour seminar
- Mandarin detected on its own
- Lecturer and students who spoke named in the summary
- Readings and dates in the brief
- Chat over the transcript
- DOCX for revision, SRT to caption the video

FAQ
Mandarin lecture recordings, answered.
How long does a 3-hour Mandarin seminar take?
About 6 minutes. Processing runs at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio, so a 2-hour lecture takes about 4.
What does a semester of Mandarin lectures cost?
Thirteen 2-hour lectures are 1,560 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000. A single 3-hour seminar is 180 minutes on the $6 pack of 500. The first 20 minutes on a new visit are free, and a longer lecture carries on from the end of that preview after you buy a pack.
The lecture video is large. Will it upload?
Each upload can be as long as 10 hours or as large as 5 GB. Before the first pack, the upload limit is 2 GB, and a bigger video starts once a pack is on the account. Course videos on YouTube or a Drive share link can be pasted rather than uploaded.
Should I split a double seminar?
No need. Anything shorter than 10 hours stays as one file with one timeline; only a longer recording goes in as two.
Does it cope with Mandarin and English in one lecture?
Yes. The lecture is detected on its main language among 99 that are recognised automatically, and switches into English are handled. A lecture that is mostly English comes back in English.
What can I export, and is my recording private?
Exports: TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON, as you prefer. Lecture files are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Keep in mind that a recording made for your own study is not something to post publicly without the lecturer's agreement.
