Transcribe Diet and assembly sittings from the stream link or the file.
A sitting of the Diet or a local assembly in Japan can go in as a YouTube link or an uploaded file of up to 10 hours, and it comes back at about 2 minutes per audio hour. A 7-hour committee day is ready in roughly 14 minutes, the first 20 minutes are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers the rest of it.
What a long sitting needs
Question time, committee answers and the vote, in text you can search.
From the YouTube replay
If the sitting is on YouTube, including a live stream that has ended and left a replay, paste the link and we fetch the audio ourselves. For a sitting only on another site, download the video and drop the file instead.
A committee day in one go
A file holds up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Most plenary sittings and committee days stay inside that, so the whole day keeps one set of timestamps.
Every questioner, in chapters
Chapters break the sitting at each change of questioner or agenda item. Members and ministers are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, so you can go straight to one exchange.
A week of sittings, priced
Five days of 6-hour sittings is 30 hours, or 1,800 minutes. The $12 pack holds 2,000 minutes, so the week fits with 200 minutes to spare.
Why sittings are hard to follow
The video is public, but the hours inside it are not easy to use.
✗ Watching it back
A full day of questions is slow to scrub through and hard to cite precisely. Staff who follow a bill across several committees face the same problem every day the chamber sits.
- Hours of video to find one answer
- Notes that miss the exact figure
- Tools that refuse files over an hour
- Downloading and splitting a long stream
- No timestamps for a quote
- Nothing pulled out of the debate
✓ The sitting as text
A link or a file in, and the day back as text with chapters and a brief. Questions asked on different days can then be compared side by side.
- Stream links accepted
- A 7-hour committee in about 14 minutes
- Each questioner as a chapter
- Bill names and figures listed
- Chat that answers what was said
- SRT and VTT to caption the video

FAQ
Legislative recordings from Japan, the common questions.
How long does a full sitting take to transcribe?
About 2 minutes for each hour of audio, so a 6-hour plenary usually takes about 12 minutes and a 9-hour day around 18. A link starts as soon as the audio is fetched.
What does a week of sittings cost?
A single 7-hour day is 420 minutes, inside the $6 pack of 500. A week of five 6-hour days comes to 1,800 minutes, which suits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. Following a whole session suits the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes, about 83 hours.
Can I paste the stream link instead of uploading?
For YouTube, yes, including replays of live streams. Any stream recording past the 6-hour mark waits for a pack on the account before it starts. For a recording hosted only on a chamber's own player, download it and upload the file, up to 5 GB, or 2 GB before the first pack.
What about a sitting longer than 10 hours?
As two files, because each file holds at most 10 hours. Cut at the recess and upload both halves.
Is this the official record?
No. It is an AI transcript with timestamps for following and working from a sitting, not a certified transcript and not legal advice. The chamber's own published record stays authoritative.
Which languages and exports are supported, and is the audio private?
Japanese is picked up automatically from among 99 languages, so there is nothing to set before you paste the link. Exports cover TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, with SRT and VTT timed to the sitting video. Our own servers transcribe every recording, and none of it is ever used for training.
