Transcribe a recording made on a farm the training, not the tractor.
An extension training or co-op meeting recorded on a farm runs two to four hours, and a 3-hour session comes back as text in about 6 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and a $6 pack of 500 minutes covers the session with 320 minutes to spare.
Recording where farmers meet
A machine shed, a barn or the shade of a tree. The speech is what gets written down.
Rain on a metal roof
Farm meetings happen in sheds and halls with tin roofs, open sides and animals within earshot. Rain on metal is the loudest of these and can cover a quiet speaker. Animal sounds, an engine starting and background noise are not transcribed. Seat the trainer near the recorder, and the main content comes back intact.
A demonstration that moves
Field days often walk from the shed to a plot and back. If the recorder stays in the shed, the walking part is lost; a phone in the trainer's shirt pocket follows them. Either way the whole day is one file, up to 10 hours.
What a season of meetings costs
A 3-hour training uses 180 minutes of a $6 pack of 500. A co-op that meets monthly for two hours needs 1,440 minutes a year, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000 at $0.36 per audio hour. Credits never expire. Start at upload page or drop the recording here.
Minutes for the members
The brief records the decisions, the prices and quantities mentioned, and the dates agreed. Speakers are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, so the minutes show which member proposed the motion. Members who missed the meeting can read it in ten minutes.
What usually happens to farm meetings
Decisions get made, and nobody writes them down.
✗ Minutes nobody had time for
The secretary is also a farmer, and the minutes get written days later from a notebook with half the numbers missing.
- Minutes written days after the meeting
- Prices and quantities misremembered
- A free tool that quits after half an hour
- Training advice that only attendees heard
- Members who missed it, left out
- Arguments about what was agreed
✓ The meeting, written down the same day
Record on a phone, upload the file, and share the text with every member.
- About 6 minutes for 3 hours
- The first 20 minutes free to try it
- 180 minutes of a $6 pack
- Decisions and dates in the brief
- Chapters for each agenda item
- DOCX for the minute book

FAQ
Farm recordings, the questions people ask.
How quickly does a farm meeting come back?
Around 2 minutes per hour of meeting audio. A 2-hour co-op meeting is ready in about 4 minutes, a 3-hour training in about 6, and a full field day of 7 hours in about 14.
What does a year of co-op meetings cost?
Twelve monthly meetings of two hours are 1,440 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000. One training of three hours fits the $6 pack of 500 with most of it left over. A first-time visitor gets the first 20 minutes free, and a pack transcribes the rest from where the free part ended.
Can I record on a phone and upload later?
Yes. A phone recording of a few hours is usually under 200 MB, far below the 2 GB that uploads before a first pack. Each file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB, so a whole field day goes up as one file without splitting.
The meeting was in a local language. Does that work?
99 languages are detected automatically, Spanish, Portuguese, Tagalog, Zulu and Afrikaans among them. In the Philippines, regional languages such as Ilocano, Bikol or Kapampangan are supported but trail the major languages; the transcript is a fast first draft, and one review pass is worth planning.
Will animals and machinery spoil the transcript?
Background sound is ignored rather than written down. It hurts only when it is louder than the speaker at the recorder. Keep the phone near whoever is talking, out of the rain on the roof, and most words come through.
Which exports come with it, and who hears the meeting?
The meeting downloads as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. On privacy: recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. You can delete a meeting and its transcript at any time.
