Transcribe a recording made in a lab meetings, journal clubs, data reviews.
A lab meeting or journal club recorded in a laboratory runs one to two hours, and two hours comes back as text in about 4 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and fifteen weekly 90-minute meetings fit a $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
What a lab does to a recording
Fume hoods, freezers and a centrifuge in the next bay. The discussion still lands on the page.
Steady hum, clear voices
Labs are full of constant noise: extraction fans, freezer compressors, air handling. Steady hum is the easiest kind of noise to work around, because it sits under the voice instead of over it. A recorder on the meeting table beats one on a bench near the equipment.
Jargon comes through
Lab meetings are dense with gene names, reagents, model numbers and figures. Those are written as heard, and the brief lists the names, numbers and dates said in the meeting so a reader can check the ones that matter. Unusual abbreviations are worth a quick read before they go into a notebook.
A semester of meetings
Fifteen weekly meetings of 90 minutes are 1,350 minutes. That fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes at $0.36 per audio hour, with 650 minutes left for journal club. Credits do not expire, so the next semester starts where this one stopped. Go to upload page or drop this week's file here.
A record of who proposed what
Presenters are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, so the decision to repeat an experiment or drop a line of work is attached to the person who argued for it. Chapters follow the agenda: updates, the paper, the data, next steps.
Why lab meetings vanish
Two hours of decisions, and a whiteboard that gets wiped.

FAQ
Lab meeting recordings, the usual questions.
How long does a lab meeting take to transcribe?
Expect about 2 minutes per hour of meeting. A 1-hour journal club is back in about 2 minutes, a 2-hour meeting in about 4. Leave the page if you like; it waits in your Library.
What does a semester of meetings cost?
Fifteen 90-minute meetings come to 1,350 minutes, which sits inside the $12 pack of 2,000. A handful of meetings, up to 500 minutes, fits the $6 pack. A first-time visitor gets the first 20 minutes free, and a pack carries on from where the preview ended.
Do I need to split a long recording?
No. A single file may run up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Before the first pack, uploads up to 2 GB are accepted, which covers a lab meeting recorded on a phone or a video call many times over.
How does lab noise affect the transcript?
Constant hum does little harm. Short loud sounds, a centrifuge spinning up or a vortex mixer next to the recorder, can cover a few words at that moment. Record at the meeting table, away from the benches, and most of it is clean.
What about lab members who speak other languages?
99 languages are detected automatically, so a meeting in Korean, Japanese, Portuguese or Swedish works with no setting. A meeting that switches language is detected on its main one.
Which exports come back, and is unpublished work safe?
The exports are TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Unpublished results stay ours to process and nobody else's: recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete them at any time.
