Transcribe a symposium recording papers, panels and questions.
You have the recording of a symposium, a day or two of papers, panels and discussion, and you want it as text with each speaker's contribution clear. Upload the day's file or share the folder: a 7-hour day comes back in about 14 minutes with speakers named in the summary and key quotes, and 420 minutes fits one $6 pack (500 minutes).
For scholarly events
Papers and the discussion after them, kept together.
Each voice on the panel
Speakers are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters. A four-person panel with a chair and questions from the floor reads as a set of contributions you can attribute and cite.
A day as one file
Record the room from the first paper to the closing remarks; up to 10 hours fits one file. Chapters mark each paper, each panel and each round of questions.
Proceedings, started for you
The brief gives the central argument and takeaways of each session, with the names, dates and figures that were cited. It is a first draft of a report or the outline of an edited volume.
Two days, two files
A two-day symposium of seven hours a day is 840 minutes, which fits one $12 pack (2,000 minutes). Each day goes up as its own file, or each session separately if the organisers recorded it that way.
After the symposium
The discussion is the part that never makes it into print.
✗ Recorded and shelved
Papers get published; the questions and responses that followed them stay in an audio file.

- Panel remarks attributed from memory
- A per-file cap shorter than one session
- Volunteers transcribing by hand for weeks
- Citations of what was said with no timestamp
- Proceedings missing the floor discussion

Sample output
A paper, a response and the questions.
Illustrative output, not a real symposium or speaker. In the brief and key quotes, speakers are named; the timestamps here let you check any line against the recording.

FAQ
Symposium recordings, answered.
How long does a symposium day take to transcribe?
About 2 minutes per hour of audio, so a 7-hour day takes around 14 minutes and a single 90-minute panel about three.
How much does a symposium cost?
A one-day symposium of seven hours is 420 minutes, which fits one $6 pack (500 minutes). Two days of seven hours is 840 minutes, covered by one $12 pack (2,000 minutes). The first 20 minutes are a free preview, and the minutes never expire.
The full-day video is over 2 GB. Will it upload?
A symposium day can go up as one file of up to 5 GB and 10 hours. Before the first pack, uploads are limited to 2 GB, so a larger file starts once a pack is on the account. A link from YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive needs no upload.
Should each paper be a separate file?
It is your choice. A file per session gives each presenter their own transcript to check; one file per day is less work and the chapters still separate the papers.
The symposium had papers in two languages. How is that handled?
Each file is transcribed in its main language, detected automatically from 99. If papers were given in different languages, sending them as separate files lets each be transcribed in its own.
Which exports are there, and is unpublished work protected?
Papers and panels export as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, so unpublished findings presented in the room are not shared anywhere.
