Transcribe shiur recordings from Israel, source by source.
A one or two hour shiur recorded in Israel transcribes in about 2 to 4 minutes, and Hebrew is detected automatically. The first 20 minutes are free, five 90-minute shiurim fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and a month of daily one-hour shiurim, 1,800 minutes, fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
Learning, written down
A shiur moves fast. The text lets a learner go back over it slowly.
Hebrew, with quotations inside it
The shiur is transcribed on its main language, Hebrew. Aramaic lines read from the text and English asides are written as heard inside the Hebrew transcript, and they are the passages to check against the printed source.
Teaching, not chanting
The explanation and the discussion are transcribed. A passage that is chanted or sung, such as a reading in a traditional melody, is not, so the transcript picks up where the teacher starts explaining.
A month of a daily shiur
Thirty one-hour shiurim make 1,800 minutes, which the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes holds, about $0.36 per hour of learning.
From the feed it already has
Many shiurim are published as a podcast or on YouTube. Paste the RSS feed or the video link and the recording is fetched; a file from a phone on the table uploads directly.
Why shiur recordings are hard to review
The argument builds over an hour and the key line is easy to lose.

FAQ
Shiur recordings in Israel: before you upload.
How quickly is a recorded shiur ready?
Around 3 minutes for 90 minutes of teaching, since each hour of audio takes about 2 minutes to process. A two-hour shiur on a Thursday night is ready in about 4 minutes, well before anyone opens it to prepare for the next session.
What does a series of shiurim cost?
Five 90-minute shiurim are 450 minutes, inside the $6 pack of 500 minutes. A daily one-hour shiur for 30 days is 1,800 minutes on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes, and a full year of weekly hour-long shiurim, about 3,000 minutes, goes on the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes. Every pack is a single US dollar payment with no renewal.
Can a very long recording go up in one piece?
A shiur file may be up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Before a pack is on the account, a single upload of up to 2 GB is accepted, which is far more than an audio shiur needs. A yom iyun recorded as one file of more than 10 hours is split into two before uploading.
Will the Aramaic be right?
The shiur is detected as Hebrew, among 99 languages, and Aramaic quotations are transcribed as heard within it. Treat those lines as a draft and compare them with the text you were learning from.
Can I search a year of shiurim?
Each shiur has its own transcript, chapters and chat. Download the TXT files into one folder and your computer's search finds a word or a source across the whole year, with the timestamp pointing back into the recording.
Which formats come out, and who sees the audio?
The shiur exports as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON. A shiur recording is processed on our own servers and never used for training, and it can be deleted at any time.
