From the seminar room to the study guide

Literature, history and heritage-language courses, readable after class in the language they were taught.

The courses this covers

Spanish literature surveys, Latin American history seminars and heritage-speaker classes taught in Spanish at US universities run from 75-minute sessions to 3-hour evening seminars. Each session goes in as one file.

Recordings you may download

Transcribe what the lecturer or the course lets you download, such as a posted recording or one you made with permission. A lecture published on YouTube can be pasted as a link; a big video file continues on upload page.

Authors and dates in one list

Writers, works, years and terms the professor names are collected into one list, which is most of a study sheet. The chapters mark where the lecture turns from one text to the next.

Ask the lecture

The chat answers questions over the transcript, such as how the professor contrasted two novels or which dates belong on the exam. Answers point back to a time in the recording.

Why Spanish lectures are hard to review

Captions set to English, and recordings too long to rewatch the week of the exam.

✗ Rewatching

Students replay recordings and pause to write down what they missed.

  • Captions that guess English
  • A 3-hour seminar to scrub through
  • Names of authors misheard
  • Notes in two languages, mixed
  • Free tools that stop short
  • No search across the term

✓ Every class, in Spanish, structured

Each lecture returns with a brief, chapters and searchable text.

  • About 2.5 minutes per 75-minute class
  • Chapters per text and topic
  • Professor and students named in the summary
  • Authors and dates listed
  • DOCX for the study guide
  • A semester on one $12 pack

FAQ

Spanish university lectures, answered.

How long does a lecture take to transcribe?

A 75-minute class takes about 2.5 minutes and a 3-hour seminar about 6, at about 2 minutes per audio hour.

What does a semester cost?

Twenty-six classes of 75 minutes come to 1,950 minutes, just inside the $12 pack of 2,000. A twice-weekly 75-minute course plus a 3-hour weekly seminar over a semester passes 2,000 minutes and fits the $24 pack of 5,000. A single class fits the $6 pack.

Will a 3-hour seminar video from the course site go in?

Files up to 2 GB upload before the first pack, and up to 5 GB or 10 hours per file once a pack is on the account.

Should I cut a 3-hour seminar at the break?

No need; one file keeps the whole seminar on one clock, and the chapters divide it by topic. A file can run up to 10 hours, so even a recorded study session the night before a final goes in without trimming.

The professor explains in English sometimes. Does that work?

Yes. The lecture is detected on its main language and the switches are handled, which suits heritage-speaker classes where grammar is explained in English and practised in Spanish. A quotation read aloud in Portuguese or English inside a Spanish lecture is handled the same way, as a switch inside a recording whose main language is Spanish.

What formats do I get, and are lectures private?

DOCX and TXT for notes, SRT and VTT to follow the video, JSON for study tools. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training; follow your course's rules before sharing the text.
