Transcribe a Tamil temple discourse and keep every evening of the series in writing.
A 90-minute Tamil temple discourse recorded in Canada is transcribed in about 3 minutes, with Tamil detected automatically and English explanations for younger listeners kept in the same text. After the first 20 minutes free, a ten-evening series of 90-minute talks, 900 minutes, fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
For the temple's recording volunteer
A visiting speaker gives ten evenings on the Ramayana. Families who missed a night want to read it, and the young ones want it in a form they can search.
Each evening's thread
The brief gives the evening's main teaching and its takeaways, a starting point for the newsletter or a note to families who could not come.
Verses and names located
Names of texts, verses quoted, festival dates and the names said aloud are listed with timestamps, so a listener can find the moment a verse was explained.
Captions for the recorded talk
SRT and VTT follow the spoken discourse with its timing, so the video posted afterwards can carry Tamil captions; the bhajans in between carry none, because music is not transcribed.
The whole series at once
Paste a Google Drive folder holding all ten evenings, or send one long video through the upload page.
Ten evenings, one series
The series is recorded every night, and by the last evening nobody can say where the first one ended.
✗ Recordings on a shelf
Ten videos sit on a laptop, named by date, and the only index is someone's memory.
- No text of the talks for the newsletter
- Volunteers summarising from memory
- Tamil speech the search box cannot reach
- Replays without captions
- Verse references lost inside hours of video
- Files too big to send to the speaker
✓ A searchable series
Upload each evening's file the same night.
- Full text in Tamil script
- Chapters within each talk
- Verses, texts and dates listed
- The speaker named in the summary and key quotes
- SRT and VTT for posted videos
- The ten-night series on the $12 pack
Sample output
A Tamil discourse on the Ramayana, with a line in English for the youth.
Written for this page as an illustration; it does not come from any temple or speaker. In English: 'Greetings to all; today we continue the Sundara Kandam of the Kamba Ramayanam'; 'Hanuman crossed the sea not by strength of body alone, but by faith'; 'Let us look at the meaning of this verse slowly'; an English line for younger listeners; 'The next part continues tomorrow evening at six.'

FAQ
Tamil temple discourses, answered.
How long does each evening take?
About 3 minutes for a 90-minute talk and about 4 for a two-hour one, at roughly 2 minutes per audio hour. Upload the evening's file after the closing prayers and the text is ready before the hall is locked.
Is the Tamil output ready to publish?
Tamil is detected automatically and written in Tamil script. Treat it as a fast first draft and plan one review pass, above all for Sanskrit verses quoted in the talk and for proper names, before anything goes into print. The first 20 minutes are free, so you can see how the speaker's voice comes out first.
What does a full series cost?
Ten evenings of 90 minutes come to 900 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes with room for a second series. A single weekend of three talks, 270 minutes, fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes. A weekly 60-minute class for a year, 3,120 minutes, together with one ten-night series comes to 4,020 minutes, which fits the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes.
What happens to the chanting and the bhajans?
Sung bhajans, instruments and chanted stotras are treated as music and are not transcribed; the speech is. A verse the speaker recites slowly before explaining it may come through, and the explanation around it comes through as ordinary speech.
The speaker switches to English. Is that handled?
Yes. The recording is detected on its main language, Tamil here, and English stretches for younger listeners are handled in the same pass. Tamil is one of 99 languages detected automatically, so no setting is chosen.
How big can the file be, and is it private?
One file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB; before a first pack, uploads go up to 2 GB, and a YouTube link, live replays included, needs no upload at all. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Downloads are TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON.
