For hosts who talk for two hours

The episode is already recorded. The show notes, quotes and captions can be ready before it goes out.

Done while the episode exports

Two minutes per hour of audio means a two-hour conversation is text in about 4 minutes. Write the episode description from the transcript instead of from memory.

Straight from the feed

Paste the podcast's RSS link instead of downloading the audio. A YouTube upload of the same episode works as a link too. Files from your editor go through upload page.

Timestamped chapters, half your show notes

The conversation is split into chapters with timestamps, which is most of the work of writing show notes. Listeners who want one topic can jump straight to it.

Quotes for the clips

The brief pulls the key quotes and names the speakers in them, along with the people, places and numbers mentioned. Ask the chat what your guest said about starting a business and it finds the passage.

Why isiZulu episodes are hard to find

A podcast in isiZulu is searchable only by its title until someone writes the words down.

✗ Audio only

An episode without text is invisible to search and hard to quote. Listeners who skim cannot see inside an hour of audio, so most of what was said goes unread.

  • Episode descriptions guessed from memory
  • No captions on the video version
  • English-only tools that garble isiZulu
  • Hour-long caps on a two-hour episode
  • Typing quotes out by hand
  • A monthly subscription for a weekly show

✓ An episode with text

Each episode comes with a transcript, chapters and quotes. Hosts reuse the text for blog posts, captions and the next episode's recap.

  • A two-hour isiZulu episode in roughly 4 minutes
  • Pasted from the RSS feed
  • isiZulu detected automatically
  • Timed chapters for the notes
  • Key quotes with the speakers named
  • Four episodes on one $6 pack

An episode's opening and a key moment.

These lines are illustrative and written for this page; no real podcast or host is quoted. In English: a welcome, the episode's topic, a guest's point about money, and a thank-you.

FAQ

isiZulu podcast transcription, the details.

How long does a two-hour episode take?

About 4 minutes, and a one-hour episode about 2. Pasting the RSS link means there is no upload to wait for.

What does a full season of episodes cost?

A 20-episode season at 90 minutes each is 1,800 minutes, which the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes covers with 200 left. Four two-hour episodes, 480 minutes, fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes. Minutes never expire, so a slow season costs nothing extra.

Is there a size limit for the episode file?

An episode file may run up to 10 hours or 5 GB. A two-hour MP3 at 128 kbps is about 115 MB, well inside the 2 GB that applies before your first pack. A video recording of the episode is bigger; paste its YouTube link if it is already posted.

Can a recording session that ran long go in as one file?

Yes. A three- or four-hour raw session is far below the 10-hour limit, so there is no need to split it before editing. Transcribe the raw file and use the timestamps to decide what to cut.

What if my co-host switches to English?

isiZulu is detected from the audio and the episode is transcribed on its main language, with English switches handled. Spell-check the names of guests and brands once before you publish the notes.

Which exports do I get, and is the episode audio private?

TXT for notes, DOCX for a blog post, SRT and VTT for captions, JSON for a website. Episode audio is transcribed on our own servers and is never used for training.
